Why Concert-goers love it

Hotel Ocho is perfectly placed for catching a show—just a short stroll from several top music venues and a quick ride to many more. Its central location means you can walk home from a gig or find late-night eats easily. While the area is lively, the hotel’s interiors remain peaceful, offering a quiet place to crash after a night out. Check-in starts at 4 PM, giving you time to settle in before heading to the show, and check-out at 11 AM gives you a breather the next morning.

Food and Drink Options

The on-site restaurant and lounge is a cozy spot to fuel up before or after a concert. While there’s no formal room service, the surrounding area offers tons of late-night dining options within walking distance—from street eats in Chinatown to trendy spots in Kensington Market. Morning-after breakfast? You’ll find plenty of nearby cafés serving up strong coffee and brunch bites.

Nightlife Options

While Hotel Ocho doesn’t host live music on-site, it’s surrounded by bars, lounges, and music venues that keep the night going. Whether you're into dive bars, indie music lounges, or craft cocktail spots, there’s something within a few blocks. The hotel lounge also offers a relaxed environment to wind down with a drink.

What People Say

Guests love the hotel’s unique design, central location, and walkability to local attractions, restaurants, and venues. Many mention the friendly staff and how well the hotel balances cool, urban style with comfort. Travelers appreciate the vibe—artsy without trying too hard.

Areas for Improvement

The building’s industrial charm means it’s not the quietest or most soundproof spot—light sleepers might want to pack earplugs. Some guests note the bathrooms are a bit compact, and the lack of an elevator in this historic building could be a concern for those with mobility needs.

The Bottom Line

If you're looking for a stylish, centrally located base for your Toronto concert adventure, Hotel Ocho delivers charm, comfort, and unbeatable access to the city’s music scene.

Cool and comfortable. Happy for...

Liked: The older style hotel was cool. I felt like I was in a bespoke room (had received an upgrade). Location was decent but I was a 15 minute walk from work. It wasn't ideal but the walk was nice (along the school street especially). Bar has ample options. I only tried the hummous for food, which was ok.
Disliked: The morning coffee was disgusting. I tried it 2 mornings just to be sure it wasn't me. It was undrinkable. I like strong coffee but this was like tar. I didn't say anything. A nice coffee shop was 1 minute walk away. I suspect a lot of coffee is tossed out every day.

Beautiful downtown hotel

Liked: The location is amazing, the room was clean and spacious. The check in process was easy and fast, and they let us leave our luggage for the whole day after check out.
Disliked: We had a little issue with the shower, but it was promptly fixed by the staff

Passable

Liked: Location is great, close to a lot of things but also with a neighborhood feeling.
Disliked: I was not aware when booking that there will be weddings a the hotel at the same moment. I received an email after from the hotel. It seemed way less disturbing than it was... I would have cancel and find another hotel. No access to the elevator, had to use a back staircase and a side door through piled chairs and laundry from 5 PM to late to get in and out of the hotel. Had to get my luggage back in advance (not the time I wanted) as a ceremony was taking place in the bar/lobby, after a soud discussion with the desk person that was non negociable or solution forward. Room and carpet looked beat up, AC really loud (but covered the music from the party). Humid.

Do not stay here.

Liked: The staff is lovely, considered, aim to please and make guest feel welcome!
Disliked: Do not stay here!We booked this hotel knowing it would not be 5 star. However it was far worse than we expected. The room had a very dirty carpet, there was still some fruit leftovers from a previous guest, the pillowcase had stains on it. Due to an event in the evening we had to use the “side-entrance” which is just a very dirty staircase/utility closet. There is no check-in counter, just a desk under the stairs. There is airconditioning in the room yet this was so loud it made sleeping impossible. Overall very bad value for money. However, we did get a refund when we left early without any hassle.
