Stylish Industrial Charm in the Heart of Toronto

Modern, artistic, and full of character, Hotel Ocho is set in a restored 1902 factory building just minutes from Toronto’s buzzing live music scene. Located on Spadina Avenue, this boutique hotel puts you within walking distance of Kensington Market, Chinatown, and some of the city's most iconic venues. The interiors blend exposed-brick charm with sleek, minimalist design—ideal for travelers who love a little edge with their comfort.

Each room features free Wi-Fi, flat-screen TVs, and modern-industrial furnishings with curated artwork, giving your stay a stylish, urban vibe.

Why Concert-goers love it

Hotel Ocho is perfectly placed for catching a show—just a short stroll from several top music venues and a quick ride to many more. Its central location means you can walk home from a gig or find late-night eats easily. While the area is lively, the hotel’s interiors remain peaceful, offering a quiet place to crash after a night out. Check-in starts at 4 PM, giving you time to settle in before heading to the show, and check-out at 11 AM gives you a breather the next morning.

Who this Hotel is great for

  • Groups of friends who want to explore Toronto’s nightlife together
  • Solo travelers chasing that once-in-a-lifetime concert
  • Couples turning a show into a romantic weekend
  • Music fans who need a calm space to recharge after the encore
  • Budget-conscious travelers looking for value without sacrificing style

Food and Drink Options

The on-site restaurant and lounge is a cozy spot to fuel up before or after a concert. While there’s no formal room service, the surrounding area offers tons of late-night dining options within walking distance—from street eats in Chinatown to trendy spots in Kensington Market. Morning-after breakfast? You’ll find plenty of nearby cafés serving up strong coffee and brunch bites.

Nightlife Options

While Hotel Ocho doesn’t host live music on-site, it’s surrounded by bars, lounges, and music venues that keep the night going. Whether you're into dive bars, indie music lounges, or craft cocktail spots, there’s something within a few blocks. The hotel lounge also offers a relaxed environment to wind down with a drink.

What People Say

Guests love the hotel’s unique design, central location, and walkability to local attractions, restaurants, and venues. Many mention the friendly staff and how well the hotel balances cool, urban style with comfort. Travelers appreciate the vibe—artsy without trying too hard.

Areas for Improvement

The building’s industrial charm means it’s not the quietest or most soundproof spot—light sleepers might want to pack earplugs. Some guests note the bathrooms are a bit compact, and the lack of an elevator in this historic building could be a concern for those with mobility needs.

The Bottom Line

If you're looking for a stylish, centrally located base for your Toronto concert adventure, Hotel Ocho delivers charm, comfort, and unbeatable access to the city’s music scene.

Good

Liked: Nice bar and restaurant on the ground floor. Staff were friendly.
Disliked: Walls are thin. A lot of street noise (late-night garbage trucks, especially). The room could use some paint. The recommended parking lot was under construction, and the ticket machine wasn't working.

Very nice

Liked: The staff was very kind and friendly. The room was spacious and included a bathtub. The bed was extremely comfortable and large. The windows were big and clean. The location is ideal if you’re visiting the CN Tower.
Disliked: The room lacked sufficient lighting. The shower didn’t work, or I couldn’t figure out how to turn it on. The bathtub was useful as a result. The hotel is located in Chinatown, so at first, I was confused, feeling like I was in China rather than Canada while searching for a nearby grocery store.

Liked: Good location, good water pressure.
Disliked: Dirty, run down. Had to go down steps immediately upon entering with luggage, no ramp.

Friendly staff and a clean...

Liked: The staff were friendly and nice, the room was clean.
Disliked: I stayed at this hotel for two nights. Unfortunately, the air conditioner was extremely noisy; each time it activated, it woke me up, making restful sleep difficult. Additionally, the shower handle was partially broken and didn't stay in place, which made showering inconvenient. The hotel's restaurant bar also fell short of my expectations. Overall, while the stay wasn't terrible, it didn't meet the standards I was hoping for.

Fantastic!

Liked: A warm welcome, very friendly, helpful people. Loved the room, modern, comfortable, really clean with little finishing touches. Would have stayed all day but had to check out. Excellent location too. Really good food. Highly recommend and want to return.
Disliked: Needs coffee/tea facilities in room.

Very good

Liked: The location is great. We got the King Bed room and was super clean, the bed was very comfortable and the bathroom huge.
Disliked: We didnt like the bathroom doesn't have a door. It was very bizarre and uncomfortable. Also the paintings in the bedroom were a bit creepy.
