Hotel Nell - Union Market

Liked: I love everything about this hotel. It has amazing character, is super clean and quiet, and is centrally located in one of the most vibrant parts of Washington. But if I had to choose my favourite thing, it would be the young staff. They couldn’t be nicer, better informed, or more helpful. Hotel Nell as become by go-to-place to stay in Washington!

Enjoyed Ambiance, location,rooftop,room staff friendly...

Liked: We loved the location of the hotel, I also paid for parking. Which was a plus, we parked our car.It was my Birthday, so we used Uber to get around the DC. We also liked the TreeHouse Rooftop, we sat outside enjoyed the view very relaxing. We will definitely return to your hotel the next time we are in DC. We traveled from Virginia Chesterfield/ Richmond. Traffic was heavy called hotel to inform, we would be arriving past check in time . We arrived at hotel around 8:15pm. Love the ambiance of the hotel , also the breakfast.
Disliked: Our reservations were from April 18th to the 21st. Upon checking in I informed the receptionist we paid for parking. Decided we were going to use Uber to get around DC.. We were given room #203, upon entering the room , the toilet was filled with feces, the bed unmade room dirty..I took photos returned to check in area. The receptionist apologized and changed us to room #207, also gave us free tickets for 2 margaritas at the Treehouse Rooftop. During the remainder of our stay Receptionist Nadya was very helpful took some Birthday pictures on April 19th in the lobby,before we went out for our 7:30 reservations, while we waited for our Uber driver.

Great location, real nice vibe...

Liked: Breakfast was really good , excellent choice, very good service.
Disliked: Personal I was happy with everything. All staff I spoke to were very polite and helpful.

Great value for money on...

Liked: The lobby is great, the staff super helpful explaining how to get from A to B, and the location not bad as close to Union Station. The lack of good coffee is a bit of a downer. And the insulation is not great, so one was woken up by the neighbor’s alarm snooze.

comfortable and convenient location

Liked: clean, comfortable bed and shower, convenient location just walking distance to great restaurants
Disliked: rooftop bar was noisy beyond midnight and I could hear water in the pipes in my room (which was one floor below the bar). probably not a problem if you avoid the 4th floor. room space was a little too small to spread open both our luggage bags

Liked: everything was clean. room was missing all towels so we requested and got them later. tv kept going to default welcome/main menu mode so you would not be able to view anything as a notification would pop to press a button to continue watching every 5 mins so i could not view anything on my Netflix acc. Also at check in nobody mentioned checkout was 11am i thought it was the typical 12pm. but no problem.. and when i was notified i was already up and ready to leave just needed to gather my stuff.. i didnt like that room service and front desk came right after and kept on knocking on the door. i told them i was aware i opened the door as i was closing up my suitcase. Also room hallway in the basement smelled like fried greens and food i realized the restaurant door is in the hallway with the room. but other than that good spot for a quick trip tho.
