Disappointing - 2.0 out of 5

Cindy, Snoqualmie, visiting Tacoma Dome

Long lines at check-in - only two people checking in a line back to the front door. You would think that a hotel by a convention center would be used to large numbers of people checking in at one time! We went to the bar/restaurant. Actually sat at the bar. It took the bartender at least 10 minutes to wait on us. Would not change the channel on the TV to show an Elite Eight basketball game. Then, when we finally got to our room, we were given double beds, although I requested a king when I reserved the room (back in November)! When I called the front desk, the gentlemen told me that I had requested two double beds when I reserved the room. I told him I had requested a king bed and he argued with me. I told him I had a copy of my confirmation email that indicated a king bed and that I would bring it to him and show him. Then he finally backed down and gave us a king bed room. Service was poor; definitely overpriced for the service they provide! Probably won't go back.

Liked: Convenient for a concert.
Disliked: Not worth the price!

Tia, Tacoma

The overall experience and appearance of Hotel Murano was one of the best I have ever experienced. Having been born and raised in Tacoma and coming back to enjoy a concert at this location was very much a vacation. I will NEVER stay anywhere else for a concert at the Tacoma Dome.

Liked: Beautifully remodeled hotel with tastefully appointed guest rooms.

Disappointing

Disliked: I booked 1 room for hotel but they arranged for us room next to elevator when we arrived. There was very noise through whole night . They declined to change other room for us when we requested, they said all rooms sold out. I felt disappointed and bad experience.

Only stayed one night -...

Liked: Big fabulous windows in our high room gave us brilliant views of Tacoma and The Mountain by day and after dark.
Disliked: The parking was a bit confusing - better signage to the upper levels would be a help.

Disappointing

Liked: The price.
Disliked: Everything, and I mean everything, was dilapidated. The carpets, the curtains, the furniture, and the linens were all worn out. The backing of the curtains was dry rotted and falling off. The air conditioner hardly worked. The bathtub filled up with water to my ankles when I took a shower. The remote for the TV barely functioned. This was not limited to my room. This was throughout the hotel. The interior elevator doors were supposed to be mirrored but were sanded down to get rid of the graffiti. The carpet in the elevators had what appeared to be melted spots on it and was thread bare. The hallways up on the floors were dark like some sort of brothel. The double pained windows in my room were foggy and ruined any view I might have had. I was in a rough situation, or I would have left. The room was fairly clean, but the carpet smelled old and spent. I only booked it because it had 4.8 stars. I've now learned I can't go by the start ratings. It was sad. And the staff....... they all seemed like they hated they had to be at work. It was just sad. Don't book it if you can help it.
