Hotel Murano

Long lines at check-in - only two people checking in a line back to the front door. You would think that a hotel by a convention center would be used to large numbers of people checking in at one time! We went to the bar/restaurant. Actually sat at the bar. It took the bartender at least 10 minutes to wait on us. Would not change the channel on the TV to show an Elite Eight basketball game. Then, when we finally got to our room, we were given double beds, although I requested a king when I reserved the room (back in November)! When I called the front desk, the gentlemen told me that I had requested two double beds when I reserved the room. I told him I had requested a king bed and he argued with me. I told him I had a copy of my confirmation email that indicated a king bed and that I would bring it to him and show him. Then he finally backed down and gave us a king bed room. Service was poor; definitely overpriced for the service they provide! Probably won't go back.

The overall experience and appearance of Hotel Murano was one of the best I have ever experienced. Having been born and raised in Tacoma and coming back to enjoy a concert at this location was very much a vacation. I will NEVER stay anywhere else for a concert at the Tacoma Dome.

Liked: It is my favorite place to stay. The staff is kind, funny, and efficient. They’re very welcoming and always polite. The food is great! It’s so clean. The beds are comfortable! And the glass work is amazing to see.
Disliked: I honestly have nothing bad to say

Liked: breakfast at the bite was great. lots of choices. the prices are fairly high but the quality probably justifies the price.
Disliked: the rooms on the other had are way too expensive. I had 3 rooms for 2 nights. the first 2 rooms were 535 for the 2 nights. the 3rd room was booked later and I was charged 850. totally out of line for a mid range hotel. also the lobby is always cold so bring a jacket.

Liked: Feeling of luxurious hotel from the second I entered the hotel lobby. I LOVE THIS HOTEL. Really! Educational too. Each floor of the hotel gives a bio and pictures about a glass artist and also has a small display of the artists work. Excellent! The Club Room had tasty healthy snacks and a phenomenal breakfast of strawberry blintzes and bacon and sausages. Wow!
