Liked: we were orginally in 1256. A standard room. It was OK. Nothing special. Felt a bit dated, but it was fine -- except it was on Royal Street -- which was very loud. Switch to 1227 in the newly renovated tower. It was amazing. Everything was wonderful. Would book this room again.
Disliked: Room on Royal street was very loud. Hard to sleep at night.

Disliked: I didn't like that staying at the hotel didn't give me any advantage to get into the Carousel Bar.

Liked: Lovely rooftop pool. Great location in the French Quarter.
Disliked: Absolutely packed with people and noisy. Room decent and nice lobby, but in general, the room was overpriced. Very small bathroom, hair dryer didn’t work, ice machine didn’t work, and amenities like coffee service sub par.

Very good, busy, comfortable hotel...

Liked: We thought that the location of this hotel is perfect if you wish to visit the French Quarter. The hotel is clean comfortable and amazingly quiet at night considering it is only one block away from Bourbon Street. (Our room was on Floor 7). Room size not huge, but good enough considering location. I did not get to use the pool so cannot comment on that. Service is good and complimentary water always welcome. If visiting the French Quarter and possible wider city would definitely return. This is a great hotel but generally very busy, but then you are in the French Quarter.
Disliked: The Carousel bar has pros and cons. Firstly, of course its a great bar, but on the downside it is so busy that there's often no room and if you want to sit in the hotel bar after a long day on tours, we could not find any where to go other than to find a nearby bar - of which of course there are many. But it would have been good to have a residents bar/lounge which was available for a quiet cold beer before changing and heading out for dinner.
