Liked: Our stay at Hotel Miró in Bilbao was excellent, and definitely worth upgrading to a room with a window overlooking the Guggenheim Museum. The staff were accommodating, holding our luggage both before check-in and after check-out. Bilbao, set along the river with the Pyrenees in the background, is a charming small city in the Basque Country—less touristy than Madrid or Barcelona, with a lovely mix of old town streets and modern shopping.
