Wonderful old house in the...
Liked: The main area of the house (downstairs) is fascinating. It's a very old building, added to and changed over the centuries. Furnishings take you back to a different time. You can see where the original house started, things date back from the times of Napoleon apparently. The owners of the hotel are wonderful people, and Peggy's communication in particular was fabulous. We turned up a bit later than expected, but she gave us instructions to get inside and then was a wonderful host again in the morning and for breakfast. Our room was on the top floor - very bright and airy with windows on both sides. The views are just the backs of other buildings but you can see the cathedral spire or belfry rise above (the hotel is directly opposite). Once you are off the ground floor, the rooms do tend to come back to a more modern feel but they are perfectly comfortable and pretty good value.Breakfast was fast and decent, with some bacon and eggs cooked to your specification, with a continental breakfast. The water pressure and the shower was lovely, especially after a long day of cycling around Belgium.
Disliked: Not much to complain about. But it's helpful to remember what the front door looks like, and the street number, prior to your arrival as it took us a couple of minutes to locate the large locked gate and the name of the hotel on it is printed quite small.

Lovely, great service, super helpful...
Liked: The location was amazing, right on the city centre and a quick metro ride from central train station or 20 min walk. The hotel is on the small size, but that makes attention more personalised. All areas are clean and beautifully decorated.
Disliked: Although location is ideal to move around, at night it can get a little noisy with the windows open.

Perfect spot for a shot...
Liked: What a lovely little hotel in the centre of Antwerp. The location is perfect for the city centre and the whole ambience of the hotel is amazing, it had a real boutique feel to it. My room was a good size and overlooked the Cathedral and cafes outside, but it was still quiet. The host wasn;t around when I arrived, but she talked me through how to get into my room over the phone. She seemed very friendly when we actually met the next day.
Disliked: Quite steep and narrow stairs up to the rooms. It reflects the old nature of the building, and wasn't a problem for me, but might be challenging if you struggle with stairs.

Excellent hotel in an excellent...
Liked: The location was excellent, the room was spacious and clean and the bed was comfortable. The hosts were very friendly and the wider hotel was charming. The breakfast was ample and worked for what we needed, although I think if I revisited I would probably decide to have breakfast in the town itself. I would absolutely stay at the hotel again if I ever revisit Antwerp.
Disliked: The hotel is in a very busy part of Antwerp and this meant groups of people drinking outside the bars near the hotel until the early hours of the morning. This is not the fault of the hotel and it soon became background noise, but just something to be mindful of if visiting during the warmer weather.
