Unimpressed and disappointed... not the...

Liked: Gardens, beach and location.
Disliked: Room...noisy, excessively warm ( turns out the boiler room was the other side of our wall), and being ground level we were unable to open patio doors at night.Restaurant...Sterile atmosphere;No attempt at social engagement by staff; Neglectful waiting service (failed to take my order twice);Odd (& deliberate) policy of NOT opening bottles for diners...our bottled water lid couldn't be opened by my wife;Excessive delays in receiving anything ordered, plus - 35 minutes after ordering dessert we were told our order had been forgotten;Steak wasn't cooked as requested and was gristly;Seabass well cooked and prepared, but served only with a few slivers of red onion, cucumber and tomato with a sprinkling of herb which was completely inadequate - no potato or fresh veg accompaniment and no option on menu to order as an extra;Brownie Sundae was so crudely prepared and presented, I could have done much better!I have doubt our meals were prepared by a competent chef.Communication.. an email sent before our visit wasn't read, and our problems with the dinner weren't communicated to reception.

Disliked: Evening meal choices

The location is magical

Liked: The location is spectacular.
Disliked: As others have said, service is poor in the restaurant on occasion. But mainly down to 1 person for us. She forgot orders (not just ours) then told us it was our fault, she disappeared so you had to go in search after waiting for ages to get a menu, order food or get a drink. We never eat in restaurants that charge a service charge for delivering your food to the table. But we missed the small print and booked 2 evening meals. The 1st we paid the 10%. The second, because of the above, we said we aren't paying the service charge and said person had a little strop. The other lady on duty that night was lovely. But had long hair, not tied up, and managed to deliver my main and dessert with her hair resting on my food. Aside from this, and our bedroom carpet being filthy and not vacuumed all week, we really did have a special time. I hope the service improves with my feedback. And we will be back, for sure.

Plant paradise

Liked: Beautiful gardens with snack hut at the bottom leading onto the beach. Location central to a number of nearby gardens and NT properties.Great retro styled rooms with nice balcony / terraces.
Disliked: Some issues with food supplies to the restaurant for the evening meal which led to a lengthy wait and staff not being clear of the situation. Breakfast the following day was fine so probably an isolated incident.

Excellent location would recommend it.

Liked: The situation of the hotel in its own private garden with private beach was marvalous. Breakfast was very good, as was the Hotel restaurant. Restaurant prices were very high for what was on offer though.
Disliked: The road in and out of the hotel was narrow and one had to frequently back up for on-comming vehicles. There was not enough parking om the enclosed site of all the guests there during our stay. You were continually fighting to get a parking space near to the hotel or anywhere else. Room was noisy and we had someone tramping about on our ceiling all ther time we were in our room except for a few hours in the night.

Relaxation whether sun or rain!

Liked: Comfortable bed. Quiet. Superb garden and walk down to a fantastic beach. Enjoyed a fab pizza in the cove. The more experienced young lady waiting was a joy - always smiling, chatting and helpful. Some of the younger staff could learn from her! Breakfast was fantastic.
Disliked: Would have liked a simple bar menu giving good basic food at a cheaper price than full dinner.

Liked: Wonderful location and gardens. Beautifully cooked food.
Disliked: There's really, very little to dislike.Perhaps the evening meal service could be improved. But the quality of food was excellent.
