Great staff, lack of communication...
Liked: The property was a lovely old hotel that was ran by great staff. My room was a single room with shared balcony facing the market and I thought would be a perfect location for traveling around Adelaide.
Disliked: Upon arrival on the evening of 11th July, I was checked into Room 24. I was genuinely pleased with the location of the room — it offered what seemed like a fantastic view over the nearby market, and after a long journey I was looking forward to getting a good night’s rest. However, what followed was the exact opposite of what any guest should experience in a hospitality setting. At exactly 12:00am (midnight), a convoy of trucks arrived directly outside the hotel and began setting up for construction works. This involved road closures, scaffolding assembly, and other loud industrial activity. The disruption was so extensive that I did not sleep at all that night. To say the noise was disruptive would be a gross understatement. The level of constant industrial sounds — metal clanging, engines revving, reversing alarms, shouting, and drilling — made it utterly impossible to rest. The situation deteriorated further the following day. A large crane was set up directly outside my bedroom window, creating a continuous, unbearable level of noise pollution throughout the day. While I initially assumed that perhaps this was a one-off or an emergency maintenance issue, I was appalled to find that the situation persisted and worsened.Disruption During Key Recovery TimeOn Sunday morning (13th July), at approximately 06:30am, the crane and construction team began work again — with no consideration for the early hour or the surrounding residents and hotel guests. I had hoped for just a few hours of rest after watching the British and Irish Lions rugby match late the night before, but I was rudely and abruptly woken by the machinery’s engine noise and the shouting of workers outside. To have one night ruined by noise would be unfortunate, but to have two consecutive mornings ruined by aggressive early-morning construction activity is entirely unacceptable. I chose your hotel in good faith, expecting a peaceful and accommodating stay in central Adelaide.

Disappointing. We didn’t stay both...
Liked: The caretaker was lovely and explained everything to us.
Disliked: There were no basics in the room … ie no tea and coffee making facilities. Not even a glass to have a drink of water.
