Not worth the money -...

Liked: We appreciated that the reception stayed open for us as we arrived late, I had received a few messages asking when we would be arriving which I did not see until later in the evening. The hotel room was a good size
Disliked: When we arrived, the employee made a point to say that they had contacted me and had to stay on late as the check in closed at 8, which was confusing because it clearly states 9 on the website? so they need to update their website instead of making customer feels bad. Do not ignore the comments about the noise like we did, we didn't think it would be that bad...IT IS SO BAD! constant honking, bin men arrive on the street around 6/7am which is so loud. When we stayed during May 2025, there is savage roadworks happening all down the street - the noise was horrendous. We barely slept for all of the nights.

A pleasant hotel in an...

Liked: Breakfast was basic but ok. We had to request items such as bowls and spoons, and service a little idiosynchratic. Reception staff were very helpful and the location perfect for access to the metro and nearby restaurants.
Disliked: We have mobility issues, so the stairs up to the rooms was hard work. However we were helped with some of our luggage.

I didn't get what I...

Liked: The room was fine, and the breakfast and personal, but it was not the room i booked, no balcony, no coffee no really desk. No excuses. I do not like to pay for something I don't get
Disliked: I did not get the room I paid for, I would have chosen another place to stay if I had known that. But I don't know who betrayed me, booking.com or Hotel Mergellina

Good

Liked: It's a perfectly nice building, I wouldn't call it modest. The staff does their best and I actually like the eclectic antique furnishings. The bathroom is acceptable, though showers are somewhat quirky. The bed is not my favourite kind, but if you like to sink into a bed, you'll like it. If you like a firm mattress and a high pillow, you won't. The location is not bad by Naples standards, but it is quite out of the way of all the sites and you will need to use the metro. Don't even think about a bus. You. Will. Never. Get there.
Disliked: The real issues are twofold. One is the genuinely, stunningly, inedibly bad breakfast - it's Italy, reasonable food is the easiest thing to obtain! Why skimp on that, I don't know. It's baffling, but the coffee is bad, the yoghurts are grim, the juice is not juice (think orange-coloured gasoline), the cornettos they serve taste like stale yesterday stock they get for free from somewhere, there is precious little else to eat and the lady who does the breakfast is adorable, yet often confused. And now we go to the other big thing - the NOISE. Noise insulation is not a thing. Everything is an echo chamber. Quiet hours don't exist in Naples, where people like to shout just as a method of regular communication and nobody, but nobody EVER sleeps. This hotel is no exception, with the added bonus of being right over a garage which is used night and day and every time the automatic gate opens it feels like a mini earthquake. Furious honking from the main road doesn't stop until 2 a.m., and the lady who cleans and does the breakfast starts slamming doors and crockery and shouting exuberantly at everything at around 7 am. So, sleep is to be had between 2 and 7 am, provided it's not a Friday or a Saturday, a big Christian holdiay OR if nobody decides to use the bathroom or shower. Then, it's like they are doing what they are doing in your own room.

Lovely stay in Napoli

Liked: I stayed here in winter to explore Napoli, the location is very accessible to Mergellina station, also a close walk to the water front. I enjoyed my stay, the Madame looking after breakfast was so kind and friendly. The room had everything I needed. Would recommend if you plan to explore all day
