Hotel Mercure Rennes Centre Parlement

Solid hotel in downtown Rennes...

Liked: Right in the center of the city, so many eating options nearby. We were in town for a wedding and it fulfilled everything we needed for the wedding activities. Very stress free with staff available whenever needed!
Disliked: There were 2 situations that weren't 100% ideal. The first was we got coffee from the cafe in the lobby delivered to our room, my girlfriend ordered a cappuccino and the staff said there was no milk and brought her an espresso. This was hard to believe as they do breakfast service. The second was the room service after the first night. They left us with 1 towel and left a dirty cleaning rag in the room - these were very minor issues and I personally would stay there again.

Liked: A great hotel, with an amazing breakfast in the heart if beautiful Rennes
Disliked: We thought the breakfast was included and it wasn't and was rather expensive, but it was delicious

Short stay on Rennes

Liked: Nice welcome. Nice hotel, great location. Easy to access garage
Disliked: We felt it was a little overpricedAir-conditioning wasn't working very well. It was on but not effective. We forgot to let reception know on checkout

A controversial stay

Liked: The person at reception was very friendly and helpful, the beds were soft and comfy.
Disliked: There are 3 Mercure hotels in Rennes with very similar names, that is very confusing when you try to find the hotel in Google maps, and even for local taxi drivers. Probably, Mercure should reconsider their naming convention for cases like this. Despite my express request to provide the room with 2 separated beds, which was confirmed by the property, we were given the room with one big bed. The room was quite OK; but after I requested to change the room, I was indeed given the room with 2 separated beds, but it was smaller and like 20 years without renovation. 19 EUR for breakfast for person is far too much for the site - we had a nice breakfast for 2 people at a local cafe for 16.50

Liked: Lovely hotel in great location clean and very nice staff
Disliked: Well I could not believe that a night porter had no access to giving me a bottle of wine around 11pm as I had to go back to room while others stayed out this was the first time this ever happened to me in France

Clean and well appointed rooms....

Liked: Central situation with underground parking. Excellent breakfast which was free as we were all over 60
Disliked: Bit difficult to find.
