Good location for walking into...

Liked: the staff were really helpful and courteous.
Disliked: The rooms are tired. The furniture is worn, the tiles and grout lines in the bathroom were black due to mould and age, the interior of the fridge was mouldy/dirty. We booked thinking, from the website information, that this hotel had a functioning restaurant, but when we went to book a table forFriday night we were told the restaurant was closed. (The reception did book us a table at the casino restaurant next door.) The breakfast was OK, plenty of choice, however replacement of bacon, eggs and mushrooms was very slow and when it was replaced on Sunday morning the bacon was uncooked and very poor quality, more fat than meat and eggs and mushrooms were cold. The toaster was also broken on Sunday and some of the plates were chipped, but still being put out by the hotel staff. The bar was operated by the reception staff, who were again really courteous and helpful, however the bar had an aroma almost like a sewer, so we didn't stay long.

Mercure-Micaud is back !

Liked: At last, the hotel is back to what it was a few years ago. I love all the renovations undergone since then, especially the freshly repainted walls, the new carpets, doors, and locks. Fresh juice is also back at breakfast. As usual, the staff are friendly, there's a parking lot and the location ideal, with or without children.
Disliked: Renovations are still underway : I could have done without the sound of drilling coming from upstairs, but at least it didn't happen before 10am. For some reason, no one did my room on my next to last day even though I had left the sign out way before 11am.
