We both liked it and...
Liked: We really liked the Hotel Mariners and its location. It is a very old building, so you have to expect everything that comes with that. Yes, it looks a little tiered in places, but we felt this added to the character of a buliding that's lived a life. We both really liked it, it was quaint, but welcoming and staff very friendly. Room was spacious and warm. Food was very good and we recommend the cooked breakfast. Evening bar well patronised by the locals and a very cosy 'pub' feel to it. Parking on site was fine. Also highly recommend the Seven Spice Fun Dinning Indian restaurant, which is a 5 minute walk away, very good, but book if a weekend!
Disliked: There wasn't much we didnt like. Bathroom in room could do with refurbishment, as looking quite worn. It was all functional though and all worked, with shower and bath!

Brilliant find
Liked: We booked this as our ferry back from Ireland was delayed for hours. The staff couldn't have been anymore helpful. The night porter let us in around 3.45am when we arrived from the ferry. Gave us late checkout and room service for breakfast. They couldn't have done anything more for us.Would definitely book here again.
Disliked: Friendly staff. Hotel was clean. Good amount of parking available.

Passable
Liked: The staff were lovely and the food in the restaurant was also very nice.
Disliked: It's advertised as 'Dog Friendly ' which is why we chose the hotel, it is not. Dogs are only allowed in the room and no where else. Dog had to put in the car to attend Breakfast as they are not allowed to stay in the room unaccompanied. We had to do the same when we had an evening meal there. No poo bins available No water bowls in the grounds that were clean enough to be used.Rooms were very dated, dusty and cold. We did have a portable heater that was filthy but we had to use it as it was freezing.Rooms felt like they needed a damn good clean. In all a real shame, as they obviously have a great chef and lovely staff. Needs a refurbishment !

Perfect, just what I wanted.
Liked: V. friendly staff, allowed me to have breakfast in the bar because my dog wasn't allowed inthe restaurant area.Very nice place, easy to find - worth a stop at.
Disliked: (a very little) bit of noise from lads in their cars late at night, but that's no different to anywhere else.

Superb
Liked: Central location. Great breakfast. But the best thing was the friendly, helpful staff. Rooms comfortable.
Disliked: Would be nice to have small area in the bar to have a drink with a dog.

Pleasant
Liked: The place was lovely and clean. The food was gorgeous.
Disliked: Our room was right next to the car park. And people were always banging car doors till early morning. So it was hard to get off to sleep. And our pup was always growling at people going out the fire door for a smoke
