Never again
Liked: The location is excellent
Disliked: Hotel Maria Cristina has an excellent location, very close to the Paseo de la Reforma and the Angel of Independence. This is the only good thing about this hotel. Our room (202) had windows that could not be locked and an unpleasant odor in the living room and the bathroom. The refrigerator had extensive areas covered by mold and a large collection of microorganisms (see attached picture). These problems were reported the day we arrived, but no action was taken. Furthermore, the comment that the refrigerator was covered by mold, indicating that cleaning didn't take place for several weeks or months didn't trigger a concern in the person responsible at the front desk, that apparently was not surprised by this information. The rooms have no air conditioning. The only way to distract the heat was through noisy air blowers. To get breakfast, the customers had to report every morning at the front desk and request a personal voucher that had to be signed before proceeding to the restaurant. The waiters at the restaurant during breakfast were kind and efficient, but at the end a bill was provided to be signed; the only reason for this to display a price reminding that the tip was not included. It was an obvious fixation with the tips although in Mexico tipping is voluntary because the service is always included in the bill. There is no reason to book a room in this hotel; for a similar price there are excellent places very close by.

Comfortable stay in downtown Mexico...
Liked: Location, very quiet at night in the heart of the city, spacious areas, green garden, parking on site.
Disliked: Although the hotel is old style and a bit old, it is well kept all in all and a good value for the money.
