A charming and peaceful little...
Liked: The hotel was very pretty and the staff were so friendly and attentive. It was their mission to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. The restaurant food was delicious too! Our room was a good size with a big comfy bed, perfect for lazy mornings.
Disliked: There were lots of mosquitoes in the garden which were a bit of a nuisance around the pool and whilst eating outside. The hotel staff were aware of this though and provided repellant for free.

Exceptional
Liked: Lovely, small and quirky hotel. We had a fantastic meal in the hotel restaurant on our first night. Breakfast was almost as good.

Beautiful small hotel and restaurant...
Liked: Maison Pavlov is a beautiful small hotel near the centre of Bordeaux with a renowned restaurant. The rooms, facilities staff and the restaurant are all first class. The staff particularly were polite and helpful, espcially with ideas for our stay and directions to public transport which, in Bordeaux, is excellent.
Disliked: Nothing, it was a perfect stay.

NOT a 5 star Experience
Liked: This is NOT a 5 star Luxury Hotel. No, valet, no international tv station, no evening turn-down , bathroom not clean, previous guests items on bedside table, no help with bags, door opens on kitchen and toilet, lobby full of event guests. Noisy and smells from kitchen (fish) in the room.
Disliked: Room is dated looking , floor old.

Charming petite 17c monastery decorated...
Liked: We wanted to stay somewhere nicer but close to the BOD airport. We read the reviews and this charming petite 17c monastery lived up to expectations. The best was the restaurant - mentioned in the Michelin guide (I am happy it does not have a star yet because it makes it just as good and more approachable). The hotel is buried in the bustling suburb of Le Bouscat - bikes, cars, kids going to school - so be prepared with your car to navigate the little busy streets. But somehow you enter the garden and all of that is left behind. An oasis of calm and serenity. Rooms and restaurant impeccably and uniquely decorated to a high standard. All of it was great, and 15 min from the airport the next morning. They also have AC in the hot summers. We will go back!
Disliked: It was a little pricey for the lower season, but still very worth it. Breakfast options ranged from expensive to just coffee and pastry for 15EUR. We had the French press coffee in the room then decided to get breakfast at the airport. Dinner was also pricey but very worth it. For the dinner - it seemed all the dishes has asparagus (I don't like asparagus but ate it anyway and they did it very well, but I was surprised at all of the asparagus. Season menus are understandable, so not really a complaint, just personal). You definitely get what you pay for.
