AVOID!!!The MOST horrible staff and...

Liked: The room’s decor was nice and the place is in a very good location.
Disliked: The service was disgraceful. We stayed for two nights. First of all, the lady at the front wouldn’t answer questions properly and talked like she doesn’t want to be there. Later we realized she was on video calls and phone calls the entire two to three hours of the day she was present on each day. She gave us a room just infront of the reception and said we could could have an another room the next day. For the time being, my husband and I said that we will just stay both nights in the same room and not to worry about us changing it. After going in, in 15 mins we realized that the toilet doesn’t flush properly and it took four to five flushes to even flush a tissue. We brought up that issue with and her and she convinced us that it’s normal. And this is not an issue, again, she was on call and acted like talking to us for that issue was an inconvenience. She left for the day very soon after, and throughout the night we kept seeing that the toilet didn’t work, we couldn’t use it, and spoke to her when she came back the next late afternoon about changing the room or fixing the toilet. She refused saying that’s how the toilet is, she can’t do anything, started giving us tips (don’t hold the flush too long etc) and said as we said we will stay in same room the day before for both nights, she can’t give us another room , mentioned they don’t have any available rooms or call any plumbers or anyone to fix the toilet. I finally snapped and said how can we stay without a functioning toilet and either she called her manager or someone to fix the toilet or we are leaving the hotel and we are getting refund for the night we stayed there without a functioning toilet. She said she doesn’t have a manager and she is calling someone and is coming into the room in a few mins. She knocks fifteen minutes later wih a key to a new room in the building a few doors down.

Liked: 1. Location, location, location! You are just a block inside the wall of Old Town and can see Hotel Frontenac further down the street. We parked at 39 Rue Saint Louis (entrance is off Rue Haldimand) and were able to walk everywhere. 2. The history! You just feel like a part of a different time and space.
Disliked: Just noting a cultural difference: hotel staff is not 24/7. We had a few questions along the way, and the desk wasn't staffed. There was an emergency phone number given to us, but our situation wasn't "emergency" level.

Superb

Liked: The breakfast was amazing! First class!
Disliked: There was no one at the desk after early evening and no one there before 4 on the weekend. However, they were associated with restaurant next door. Staff there were fantastic

Very good

Liked: Great location, clean and overall served our needs. Good breakfast included at the resto next door. The rooms are small and there is no elevator but it wasn't an issue for us as we only stayed one night. I definitely wouldn't consider it for a longer term stay (more than 3 nights)
Disliked: They don't really have luggage storage I guess, but when I explained it was one backpack for a couple of hours after checkout, they did agree. I did see a couple of other small bags as well.

Liked: The rooms are very pretty and a great location within the city.
Disliked: The front desk staff was never around. This caused a few issues for us.
