Location good. Staff great. Hotel...

Liked: The location was good. The staff was really nice. It was clean.
Disliked: I understand it is New York but for what we paid the hotel was way below what I expected. It is quite aged, not too many upgrades (I mean to keep the charm of the old but you can still upgrade it). The furnitures were sort of old and unmatched. All the fixtures were sort of old. We did not have the shower curtain in the bathroom. The toiletry was a little meager.

Disliked: No one cleaned our room for the first two days and the staff tried to tell me sorry, our cleaning people did not show up, not my problem. The first night the heater had ice in it and it made noise all night and was only fixed the next day. The shower head dripped water. After complaining they moved us to another room of the same value, the employee made sure to mention that in front of me. When I asked for a later check out they didn’t even look into to and said no. I asked for 30 minutes extraAnd they said no. After the experience we had, it was the least they could do. The building was very old, the bathrooms were not modern and the elevators took forever!I will definitely never stay there again. NoValue for the cost, especially on the weekend.

Easy, clean, elegant and affordable

Liked: I was very impressed with the room and the cleanliness. The staff were very nice from start to finish. And the breakfast on Sunday was also very good.
Disliked: I thought the fitness center was lacking. Needs to be at least twice the size. Weather in NY can be unpredictable and it would have been nice to have had a larger indoor fitness offering with more modern equipment.
