The staff made our stay very enjoyable. Everyone from the front desk to valet to housekeeping made sure we were well looked after. The room was nice and very clean.

Liked: The location was central with lots of nearby amenities, and the staff was very welcoming. It's also a lovely older building, which shows its age in the rooms a little, but is quite nice.
Disliked: Unfortunately there was some construction going on in the room across the hall. I was informed (by a manager who was overseeing the work in the hallway) that it would be wrapping up shortly, which was fine. Things quieted down temporarily, but then sawing, hammering and scraping started up again and seemed to be coming from another room. This was at 6:30 on a Sunday evening, which seemed weird. When I tried calling the front desk (just to ask how long to expect this) nobody was answering the phones. I tried 3 separate times before going downstairs. When I asked about the construction going on, I was surprised the staff was unaware and said nothing should be going on right now. One of the members of staff went upstairs to investigate and found that one of the suites (that's a private residence) was undergoing renovations. It was a little unnerving that this was something that wasn't communicated to the staff or guests as it would have been nice to be aware of. I understand renovations and work needs to be done sometimes, but maybe try to prioritize other rooms for guests to stay in to avoid disruption? I also had a towel with stains on it, which wasn't a nice surprise when I went to shower in the morning.

Liked: Great location in centre of Vancouver, easy to walk, cycle or public transport everywhere. Our room was very comfortable, spacious and very clean. Staff were helpful. A good breakfast included in the hotel rate is provided in adjoining restaurant, however additional items are charged which could add a lot to the cost.
Disliked: Breakfast was very good but think the system needs to be a bit more flexible.
