Ok hotel in a crummy...

Liked: Rooms are small but had everything necessary! My room was very quiet. Staff was very friendly.
Disliked: Ugh the room smelled like fish and cigarettes once the heating/cooling system turned on. I was never able to pinpoint the source of the smell but it was v gross. The breakfast was depressing, terrible watery scrambled eggs, little selection, certainly not worth paying an extra $20 USD a night. The carpeted room I was in had so many stains on the floor and the room itself felt very small, hardly any space to hang your coat. But worst of all was the location: what a crummy part of Paris this was. Not a nice vibe at all, lots of homeless people and addicts hanging around when I had to walk from the subway station to the hotel (about an 8-min walk). I'm from New York City so I'm used to large cities and urban areas but this neighborhood felt very sketch.EDIT: Wow, the day after I wrote this review the hotel called me three times, I answered the third call and they offered me a voucher (good for a year) for a discounted stay and free breakfast IF I went back in and changed this review to be more positive!! So they are bribing people, essentially, to write better reviews. I'm so sure I was not the first person they have done this to. Really disappointing but I'm not surprised. I'm changing my rating from 7 stars to 6 stars because wow, that is so deceptive, and maybe if enough people are transparent about they'll stop trying to bribe people for better reviews and will just, I don't know, invest in improving their hotel?? Ugh.

Wonderful!

Liked: Wonderful! When I arrived at this charming hotel, I unfortunately did so without any of my three suitcases, all lost by the airline. It was thanks to the excellent service and help from the hotel staff that I was able to recover them. I am very grateful for the numerous calls they made to assist me. Thank you, Thierri, Kevin, David, and others. As for the hotel, it has excellent rooms, very clean, well-located just 20 minutes from the Eiffel Tower and other major sights, with convenient parking nearby. It definitely offers great value for money in Paris. I would certainly stay here again!
Disliked: Absolutely nothing to complain about.

Superb

Liked: Great location, within walking distance from Gare du Nord. Lots of nice places for food and drinks nearby. Staff was very helpful - we were travelling with our little son (4 months old), and they provided a cot bed. Nothing to say about breakfast, as we decided to eat elsewhere. All in all, great for a short stay.
Disliked: Our room was quite small, and there was no balcony. But maybe it's a norm for hotels in the central Paris.

Lovely hotel with only minor...

Liked: Lovely Hotel in a fun, lively neighbourhood
Disliked: Paris bedrooms are small and this was no exception. Consequently there is very limited room to put your clothes when you unpack. What is inexcusable is the poor wardrobe functionality. There should have been more shelves (instead on a mini-bar.....so unneccessary) and my wife an I needed maybe 10 hangers but there were only 3. When I asked for more hangers I was only given one more.
