Good

Liked: Great location in Plateau. Excellent, attentive staff who can’t do enough for you (a special mention to Adam at front desk - very kind and helpful)
Disliked: Hard bed and very hard pillows. Too much light entering bedroom especially through glass bathroom door. Quite expensive for the facilities offered.

Extremely well equipped and most...

Liked: Best location, Staff is super polite and extremely professional. They take care of any problems and also we got complementary breakfast while checking out unexpected but extremely friendly and helpful gestures. Would recommend this hotel to anyone who doesn’t have a car and is considering public transportation as means of commute reason being the bus stop is just by the hotel.

Exceptional

Liked: Super charming hotel with lots of character, lovely amenities and a great location. The kitchenette and access to the little balcony would make it perfect for a longer stay. Best was the wonderful, caring staff (special thanks to Adam!).

Fantastic staff, a bit disappointed...

Liked: The staff is really great, considerate, and eager to please. Offered to take our luggage up (3rd floor, no elevator), though we were happy to do it ourselves. Offered us water (it was 94ºF!), coffee, a bite to eat as we left in the mornings. Friendly as can be, in English and/or French. The location on St. Denis was great, providing easy walkable access to the Old Port, department stores on Ste. Catherine, the whole Plateau, and Mile End. We clocked 24,000 steps one day. The Sherbrooke metro was within 2 blocks, though we never needed it. Restaurants on Duluth were comfortably close. The room was a good size, had a desk and small eating area/kitchenette, and the bathroom was large enough. The (absolutely essential) A/C worked well, though it was directly above the bed, so a little invasive as we slept. There's a pod-based coffee machine, and green tea available in the room, and…a toaster? Just in case I guess. We didn't get a chance to eat in the Blue Nile restaurant below, but it was hopping busy every night we were there. Next time maybe!
Disliked: Despite all the glowing reviews and mentions of the comfortable beds, we were disappointed to find that our bed was literally one of the least comfortable we've ever slept on. Super soft and sagged in the middle like a hammock, very uncomfortable. We didn't mention it to the staff as we couldn't imagine what they'd be able to do about it (the hotel only has like 9 rooms), but we would never sleep in it again. The balcony outside our room looks over the neighbor's deck and not much else, and the whole balcony is shared with others on the same floor, so there's an occasional stranger sitting 2 feet outside your room smoking a cigarette at 9 in the morning. A bit weird, though we didn't really mind (he was friendly!). Also, the room has a dizzying array of lights, dimmers, and light switches to be discovered. A bit overdone on the decor. And like 2 or 3 thermostats on the wall that don't do anything, since there's actually a remote control that works the A/C.We had some trouble with the arcane, completely unlabeled upscale shower knobs, and frankly, the day before we left we were totally unable to get hot water out of the shower, though the bathroom sink would get hot. We tried every combination of direction on the knobs to no avail. I suspect the staff would have been happy to help us figure it out (if it wasn't a more permanent issue), as they really were eager to be helpful, but we really didn't have time to spend adjusting our accommodations rather than being out and about in the city. The staff is so eager and earnest that I feel bad writing critical things, but I've tried to be as objective as I can about our stay. I'm glad to see that most others had a more exceptional experience. I suspect that the fact that the hotel staff is also hosting a busy restaurant kinda made us feel like we didn't want to impose too much, but that's on us and not the staff. They'd bend over backwards to help.
