Passable hotel in a good...

Liked: Good location in Pigalle, lots of nice places to eat nearby and great bakeries and delis on rue de martyrs. Comp breakfast and tea/coffee anytime as well as kettle in room. Superior room was good size, bed reasonably comfy and clean. Some staff helpful.
Disliked: It’s a bit tired and run down. In my ‘superior room’ (€200 a night) the walllpaper in bathroom was peeling and light over mirror not working. TV had no reception. I was only there one night so wasn’t any point reporting it till I checked out. When I did there was barely any apology. I know it’s a 3 star but if there is a tv in room it should work! The lift is tiny and boiling hot even in mild weather. I can’t imagine what it would be like when it’s very hot outside. It’s also very shaky and doesn’t feel at all safe. I had to use it as on 6th floor and felt anxious every time I was in it! Corridors are narrow and uneven and stores are steep and narrow. Overall it’s just not a comfortable place to stay and feels a bit depressing. Most worryingly the hotel was hacked and customers booking details compromised. I got what’s app message day before which I nearly responded to but luckily messaged the property on booking who told me not to. I feel like they already knew this had happened and hadn’t communicated with guests. It then took a further 24 hours after I messaged them before they sent out a general message warning guests. We were told that credit card details hadn’t been compromised, however I heard a girl in reception when I was checking out say an attempt had been made to charge her card which luckily her bank blocked. When I spoke to receptionist about this I really felt he didn’t take it very seriously, and there has been no further communication from hotel about the breach of data security. I know these things happen now, but their response was way too casual.

Great staff.

Liked: The staff is excellent.The location is very good. The breakfast is good. The room size is very good.
Disliked: Th elevator is too small.The bathroom has a bathtub, which is difficult to climb in. It is actually dangerous for people not dexterous.The seats in the breakfast rooms are to difficult to get into.

Would stay again!

Liked: Beautifully clean, incredibly central, amazing air conditioning during a very warm European summer. Hôtel Joyce was a pleasure to stay at, staff that we interacted with were very kind, especially when we were first greeted. The room was large enough with high ceilings and we appreciated it due to the warm days in Paris. The team would always restock the minibar in the room and the hotel provided snacks/refreshments from 2pm-2am, something we utilised after arriving back from a big day exploring Paris. We were grateful that a lift was operational during our stay as our bags were very heavy. To note the lift is a little on the smaller side but still useable. This hotel is close to metro and bus lines. I enjoyed staying here.
Disliked: I had the breakfast buffet one morning and just a personal preference, would have appreciated a bit more fruit but it was still great!

A comfortable, relaxing stay.

Liked: Friendly, professional staff. The room was decorated nicely and the facilities in the hotel were great - especially the mini bar in the room and the free drinks and snacks in the main dining area.
Disliked: The lift was very small. It would be good to have a smoking area out the back.
