Good value for a low...
Liked: The room is restrained. Nothing special, except for the little balcony, which comes with a small table, and two chairs. I liked sitting outside in the evening. The location is okay, close to a bus/tram stop. (2 minutes walking). I found the nearby restaurants to be mostly delivery oriented. What I came up with, was the "Stahlberg Klause", about 10 minutes walking, simple, but friendly, and obviously well liked by the locals.Don't misunderstand the word restrained here. Everything, you need, is there. Beginning with the WIFI, over the bottle of water on the house. bathroom not new, but definitely uptodate. Nothing exceptional, but also (and, more importantly), nothing to rant about.A word on the reception: I felt slightly irritated, without getting a real cause. Later on, I noticed that he was sitting in a wheel chair, which is why he never stoot up to welcome me. Perfectly alright, if you know the reason. In summary: Good value for a low price tag.
Disliked: Nothing. To me, it was really quite alright. Would be glad to come again, if I were in the area once more.

A wonderful snapshot into fully...
Liked: Myself and my companion are both disabled, using a rollator and cane respectively, and I was really excited to discover this hotel whilst looking for accessible accomodation in Mainz. At the time of booking there were no fully accessible rooms available, but I requested a chair that we could use in the shower and the hotel promptly responded to confirm. Not only this, but a week before travelling I received a message to let us know an accessible room had become available and we'd been moved there free of charge! As a result, we were able to stay in a room with a fully accessible shower and toilet, wide doors and enough space to move around in that I did not need to fold up my rollator at all.The hotel was a wonderful environment to be in as a disabled person; for once, I felt that the building I was in had been designed with me in mind. Seeing disabled staff and hotel guests as well as posters and events campaigning for accessibility heightened this feeling.Facilities at the hotel covered all of our needs, staff were friendly and helpful (e.g. carrying an ironing board up to the room), and the breakfast was delicious - especially the range of breads and pastries! We also had the dilemma of a very early arrival before check-in and a very late pick-up after checking out, a gap of 4-6 hours' time. We were able to leave our luggage at reception to collect later, which was a huge help!Thank you to all of the staff at Hotel INNdependence for all of your help to create a barrier-free stay for us 😊
Disliked: Ironically, the sensor in the ground/KG floor accessible toilet was motion activated but placed quite high up on the wall. I visited this toilet during breakfast and was waving my arms around every 40 seconds when the lights turned off - but I had to stretch up quite high to trigger the sensor! This was only a minor issue (and a very silly mental image), and did not affect my positive experience of the hotel as a whole.

Good value for money -...
Liked: We experienced extremely friendly staff, enjoyed the spacious room + parking at a moderate price and on top we had a locked cubicle for our bikes. Breakfast offered everything you could ask for at this price. The location in the 'Oberstadt' is splendid as it is a bit away from the hustle and bustle of the city centre, but still within walking distance.

Friendly staff, typical breakfast, too...
Liked: Room was great and the staff even went above and beyond by providing a bottle of sekt (precoordinated) in the room over ice. Everything seemed clean, and the breakfast was exactly what you would expect from any German hotel. Cold cuts and cheese slices, coffee, juice, fruit, and powdered eggs.
Disliked: The television in our room would NOT turn off no matter what we did. We turned it on inadvertently by bumping the remote and then it all went downhill. The remote would not turn the television back off, even with new batteries. The power button on the side did not work properly. To make it all worse, the television was in a spinning metal mount and made it nearly impossible to even unplug it. Took us over an hour, with tools, to finally get it unplugged.

Lovely hotel with great value
Liked: I there will be the chance I will for sure stay again: the room was large and very clean. The breakfast is lovely and abundant. Parking is available, both guarded and free. The hotel is located at walking distance from the city centre.
Disliked: The welcome at the reception could be improved.
