We have stayed in NYC...

Liked: Location awesome…loved the lobby / atmosphere..freedom to chill there with my daughter n grandson
Disliked: Our beds were really hard n we couldn’t sort out air conditioning / heating

Not the best experience, but...

Liked: The hotel definitely has good aesthetics and interiors and there was daily change of towels and the bed was made. Location is great, so easily accessible and good connections to city.Aliyah restaurant which is located there on the 4th floor is amazing!
Disliked: What was most frustrating about our stay there was that upon arrival we were told for the first time ever that we have to pay an upfront safety deposit of $200 a night, which was a total of $1000 for our 5 days. There was no notice of this anywhere during the booking process, not even in the hotel policies on Booking.com. I had received an email receipt that everything is paid for and im good to go for my reservation the day before. When I tried to find a middle ground on this I was told that they have it on the official Indigo website when you book, however I would have never seen that as I booked with Booking.com. I tried to explain the situation and that I was completely unaware of this and asked to be shown where exactly it says that, they told me it is in every hotel in New York and that's the situation (as if I am supposed to know that, when visiting from abroad) They did offer to reduce that to $700, but still this was a vast amount of money that I was all of a sudden required to pay on the spot. I was also told I "Shouldnt book from third parties because its cheaper" which makes no sense, if anything maybe you as a hotel shouldn't provide your services through third parties then. It is your duty to ensure your policies are included on third party websites that you use.Value for money was disappointing, feels like you pay for the "vibe" and aesthetics more than the actual stay. Sure the fancy soaps in the bathroom were nice but I expected a little bit more for the price, such as slippers, robes, water in the mini fridge, room service and little considerate things like that. Breakfast was average.

Liked: Rooms were clean and staff friendly
Disliked: The rooms are not well insulated and we could hear everything going on next-door and in the hall- our our neighbors were extremely noisy. Waking us up when they came in at 4 AM. I also think free bottles of the water in the room would be a nice touch
