Disappointing - 2.0 out of 5

Maybe when the construction is...

Liked: It was okay. Nice staff.
Disliked: This hotel is directly across the street from an enormous all-day-and-night construction site and above a freeway. I realize this is not their fault. But there is a lot of noise. If I had known there was this much noise I would have booked somewhere else. The hotel put earplugs on the night stand with an attempt at a cute note about the noise. This was in poor taste. Also the lighting arrangements were oddly not conducive to providing enough light. Also there was a cricket in our room. Staff was lovely. Truly.

Modern clean comfortable hotel, easy...

Liked: Very easy to get to for someone new to the area. Hotel was clean and with fun industrial decor reflective of the site's historic past, which helped distinguish it from other chain hotels. Room was very modern, comfortable and clean, and felt more expensive than what we paid for it. Pros on location: close to CMU, 10 minute walk across historic "hot metal bridge" led to area on the other side of the river with many restaurants and entertainment. Check-in staff were great.
Disliked: Hotel is near a traffic light on a busy 4-lane road, parallel to a major highway, so we heard a lot of trucks downshifting and vehicles starting from a red light throughout the night. The room had earplugs on the nightstand so it's clearly a known issue. I did wake up a couple of times but probably wouldn't have if I'd used the earplugs. that being said, the hotel is quite lovely and I would stay there again, just on the river side of the building. On-site parking is $30 and there are no other alternatives--would have been nice to know up front. Breakfast is a sit-down restaurant, not a standard continental buffet like I was expecting. Our wait person was lovely but the kitchen was very slow, which was strange as it was 9am and only one other party in the very empty restaurant. Unfortunately because breakfast took longer than the 30 minutes we were planning on, we were late to our appointment.

The hotel Indigo SUCKS, WAY...

Liked: The food was good and reasonably priced. the staff was very personable and and professional.
Disliked: The outside traffic noise was unbearable. We were there two times. The first time and the last time. My wife and I stayed at other hotels over the years, but none as loud and noisy as your place. It was like trying to sleep at the Daytona 500 while the race was being run. The part that we found funny, was the hotel supplies ear plugs, We will never stay or recommend your hotel to anyone we know .

Curiosity satisfied. Beautiful but not...

Liked: Great interior design
Disliked: Although the interior design was really hip, the lighting was completely inadequate. My booking.com reservation stated parking would be $22.00, they charged $30.00…which gratefully they refunded after I had to park in a Ridley small space that seemed like a sardine can. Most hotels leave too much informational detritus in the room, this place is too cool for school and makes you research info yourself.

Pleasant

Liked: The hotel is close to the Hot Metal bridge, so you can cross the river on foot, which is great. But otherwise the neighborhood isn't interesting, and not very walkable. The breakfast in the restaurant is good, but be sure to reserve plenty of time, as it might not be quick.
Disliked: Loud air conditioning and the room wasn't very clean. Floors were sticky and socks were dirty after walking in the room. Cleaning doesn't seem to be a priority. Oh, and don't use the overpriced hotel parking, there is a parking garage literally next to it that is much less expensive and with a roof on top.

Very good

Liked: The hotel was clean and has been carefully decorated. We spent just one time as we were going through Pittsburg just to get to our final destination in Delaware. Unfortunately, we did not sleep very well as the beds were not very comfortable for our taste, and the morning breakfast was average. On the other hand, the staff was very accommodating and extremely kind.
