We were disappointed that so...
Liked: Excellent breakfast but the first day there was no heating and we were VERY cold. The bedroom was good with a wonderful large bed.
Disliked: the first day there was no heating in the public areas for supper on a freezing cold day and again for breakfast the next morning we were VERY cold. No one in the bar because of this. The second night we went to bed amidst an awful foul smell in the room which seemed to come from drains (room 208) and extended into the bathroom. Reception knocked £10-20 off our bill which we thought was very poor. the first day our room was not cleaned till late afternoon.

Stay was brilliant.
Liked: Great location, close to Station and tour buses.
Ideal for shopping and walking. The service was superb, very polite staff.
Disliked: The one and only down side. No parking, was given a code but couldn't find the place. Arrive late, weather was awful, had to turn into a no entry situation to get to front Entrance. Finally drove a considerable distance to park on Waverely train. Station carpark. Rang several times for assistance,. Managed to book in. Then park up after help from a taxi driver. Gigered by time for bed. This situation needs explaining on your website. Very important.

Liked: Needed 4 rooms because our extended family was stranded in Edinburgh overnight due to Storm Ciara. The location on Princes Street was perfect and the rooms/public areas are furnished to a high standard. A bright, modern bar area which served snacks was a comfortable spot to spend a few hours. Reasonably priced too, compared to the other hotels around it of a similar standard.
Disliked: My room was very noisy with ill-fitted windows which rattled all night and I was on the front of the hotel on Princes Street, so had a certain amount of noise from that too. It was a windy night though, and in the morning I did spot a small card (size of a business card) on the desk around the corner saying ear plugs were available. This is a nice touch, but maybe put this by the bed so that guests will see it. The room was a bit gloomy due to poor lighting too.
