Exceptional

Liked: Location, & the Hotel was lovely, & the staff were nice & helpful, Breakfast was good aswell. I would recommend this hotel & would happily stay again. Directly across from train station, & close to Edinburgh Castle for concerts
Disliked: I thought it was pricey for just 1 night, over £300, now I booked it close to the date that I was staying so I understand things go up last minute. But I enjoyed my stay

Too expensive

Liked: Breakfast staff was surly and quarreling with each other. Ignored customer's needs. Entertaining to watch them destroy ambiance for all in room. Clearly not good for business.
Disliked: Paid double the going rate by going through Booking. Never again.

We would stay here again...

Liked: We returned a car to Waverley station, right across the street from this hotel. The location is amazing for access to all the tourist sites, the big bus tours etc. The hotel is a little difficult to access by car, so I would suggest using public transport. But we were extremely happy with the convenient location. When we went to the airport, it is literally a 2-3 minute walk to the airport bus stop. It is the first stop, so lots of room for luggage etc. And the buses are frequent. Very convenient, and I cannot imagine a better way to get to and from the airport.
Disliked: We got the package that included breakfast and dinner, and I'm not sure we got value for money, so I would not recommend it. We wanted to not have to go looking for restaurants, so it was good in that respect. Although there are many restaurants in the area. My husband had to do a little side trip during our 3 night stay, so I had dinner alone one night. I hate to eat alone in restaurants anyway, but I felt the service when I was a woman eating alone was not good at all in the restaurant. And the food was good, but not amazing.
