Liked: The shower was ok .
Disliked: I was offered a double bed first of all room 315 if I recall. It had a door between it and another room (strange) The room was stuffy with no air conditioning and opening the windows only made things worse due to the bars smoking area just below the window , so very noisy due to Friday evening , also there is a silver extraction fan pipe at the window adding to more noise. I asked to have the room changed straight away and requested air conditioning due to the heat and stuffiness. I was told that none of the rooms have air conditioning which was a surprise to me due to it being 4 star presumably. I was told there was no other rooms at all on Friday night available, that at that moment there was only one other room but it had 3 single beds but would be quieter and on 2nd floor. The reception staff took me there to show me . I was very tired and needed to sleep asap due to having a 6am start for a meeting in Dublin, so I took the room. Reasons for taking the room were it seemed quiet at least even if facing to the street instead. I was given a fan (didn’t do much ) . I bedded down at 10:30 and woken at around 11:30 by loud club dance music coming from their nightclub… I managed to get to sleep but it took hours but then I was wide awake again at 3am with people congregated below my room from the club after closing , roaring , laughing, shouting not allowing me to sleep at all. This went on for a torturous amount of time . It was quiet again after 4am and by now wide awake and very annoyed and couldn’t sleep. Got up and out the door for 6:30 am. What a waste of money I could have saved if I slept in the car , at least it would have been quieter !I normally stay at the gateway but gave this a chance due to a better deal being presented by imperial , never again !
