Overall pleasant stay, though at...
Liked: Room was quaint, clean, and the staff was pleasant. I was in walking distance of many amenities, including 2 drugstores and 2 coffee shops. LOTs of nearby restaurants, including on premise bar/restaurant.
Disliked: Room was cramped and dark. There wasn't anyplace where I could apply makeup with confidence because the lighting was so dim. There were instructions for room service but turned out that room service wasn't a real option. Not a big problem since food was downstairs and all around.

Historic old hotel in the...
Liked: The hotel is located right in downtown Washington, DC (11th and F Street NW) and advertises itself as a "tourist" hotel, which is accurate. The hotel is over 100 years old and the rooms and bathrooms are not up to modern standards, but that is reflected in the room prices as well, which are relatively low for hotels in downtown DC. If you don't mind old, quaint, and a bit worn, it's not a bad place to stay.
Disliked: There is no question that the property is old and a bit worn, but it doesn't make any pretenses to be anything other than what it is.

The location was great, but...
Disliked: No way to control the room temperature. One night it was cold , the next night it was sooo hot. Very frustrating!

Liked: People nice and was surprised at upgraded room.
Disliked: So, set reasonable expectations. I got a cheap room, upgraded to a 2 room suite, it was clean and everything worked. It is not the Hyatt. However, being recently retired, I did not want a $300 room and $60 for parking. I got a serviceable and clean place for $160 (including parking up the street) .
