Terrible - avoid

Disliked: The room a/c system does not work. Upon reading reviews after... this has been an ongoing issue for many years. They provide a portable window a/c system which does not work sufficiently for Miami heat in August. In fact, it only worked for the immediate 2 feet you are in front of the unit and had to be strategically placed in front of the bed. The vent from the fan wasn't sufficient to move the unit anywhere else in the room. During the night, the window vent fell out and was pumping hot air around the room. How long this went on for I don't know as I eventually woke up dripping in sweat with the window unit out. The exhaust vent would not stay in the window. I was offered another room, but the rooms do NOT have working sufficient a/c systems, AT ALL. Reception confirmed the rooms do not have an a/c system sufficient enough for the building, yet the bar and reception area has a fully functioning a/c system... I asked for fans which they provided, but these did little to no use whatsoever. Was advised to keep all curtains closed... I was supposed to stay here for 4 nights. I checked out as soon as I could after 1 night the following morning after a somewhat very uncomfortable night. I was laughed at at reception when mentioning the extreme heat in the room. it was 91f outside and considerably stiflingly hotter in the room. Unbearable to stay in. Was told I would receive a refund on the 3 days I was not going to be there. The refund never happened. Contacted Booking.com and awaiting response. Had to book an alternate hotel last minute. Would not recommend this hotel at all during peak summer months.

Liked: Very spacious room and pleasant staff including cleaning staff. Book your stay with breakfast; worth it for Miami Beach. Not luxury, but great location for everything - close to transportation, shops, dining and beach.
Disliked: Nothing. Lived in the area for quite a few years and had stayed at the hotel before, so I knew what to expect...no surprises for me.
