An excellent stay in a...
Liked: We loved our stay at the Figueroa! We started our trip in LA, travelled up Highway 1, staying in a variety of hotels across 14 nights and this hotel was our favourite!
Check in was great, the hotel looked very decedent and on trend from the outside, let alone inside. I loved the decor, lots of brass and glass.
Our room was gorgeous, especially the bathroom. Again, I loved all the brass hardware. The blackout blind was a godsend and the room was silent meaning we had such a great sleep in our incredibly comfy bed.
We were left a delicious bar of chocolate by the hotel on our bed one night which was a lovely surprise.
We ate in Veranda on our first night and the food was delicious. The setting was also beautiful with the low lighting and pool views - my friends were very envious of my pictures.
Breakfast was wonderful in the morning, however i'd recommend you go down earlier rather than later to ensure you get to try a little of everything. My partner enjoyed a swim in the beautiful pool that was nice and quiet. I enjoyed the views from a comfy sunbed admiring the outside decor of the hotel and getting some LA sunshine.
We used valet parking which is a standard price for LA but ideally i'd have liked to park somewhere cheaper, ultimately freeing up some money to have enjoyed another nights stay at the hotel.
We had a great time staying here and would love to come back, in the meantime i'll be recommending the Figueroa to friends and family.
Disliked: Valet parking could be a little cheaper.

Nice but not relaxing
Liked: Staff was amazing and it was a great location.
Disliked: The rooms were small with no table or desk. The bathroom door was almost see through which made it uncomfortable even for spouses but especially with our daughter. The breakfast options were limited.

Disliked: Hotels own parking a little on the expensive side.

Not a ?Leading hotel of...
Liked: The beds were comfortable.
Disliked: If you book this hotel because you are familiair and trusted with the Leading Hotels of the World alliance, you may be disappointed. Even though the king room was nice (but fairy small), beware that the engineer may need to drop by to make the power plugs and lamps work. Further, the lights and A/C only are working when there is movement in the room (by a sensor), which resulted me in the middle of the night to wake up to turn on the A/C again. The rooms on the Figueroa street side are also very noisy (even though I was on floor 10) so not for difficult sleepers. One thing I need to say though is that the bed is very comfy. If you stay, also make sure to put the do not disturb sign outside or the cleaning personnel knocks your door at 8am (!). The ?continental breakfast? is also very basic, no ham or cheese slices, bad croissants and cake. Good if you like bagel with cream cheese though.
