Hotel Faubourg Montreal Centre Ville Downtown

After walking to find the hotel, we stopped to ask directions from a different hotel, which turned out to be the Holiday Inn Express except they changed names and failed to notify us before hand. The wifi wouldn't work even though the front desk tried to fix it. The room was disappointing as well considering the price we paid. We would not return or recommend anyone to stay there.

Disliked: I think the king room with kitchen must have some items like a knife and fork, and the shower needs to be replaced immediately.

Liked: Loved the studio and complimentary breakfast
Disliked: The AC was in the living room so the bedroom was not quite cool enough for sleeping. But the bed was very comfortable.

Liked: Location was excellent. Staff were helpful and friendly. The room was clean.
Disliked: The room had lights that were not operating. The heating/cooling unit was old and the buttons for operation did not seem to work. The unit was unplugged when we entered. We could not turn the unit off with the buttons, so we unplugged it when we left.

Liked: The location is very close to the beautiful old downtown, the waterfront and the more modern shopping area. It’s very close to a few metro stations too. It’s affordable with a very comfortable bed.
Disliked: The kitchen is full size and includes a big fridge and a sink and dishwasher. And a tiny microwave. No plates, cutlery, bowls, or even a tea towel or dishwashing are provided. You can ask for plates and cutlery. The bed was very comfortable, as was the sofa bed. The balcony was not worth paying for. We had a room overlooking the quite busy road the hotel fronts on to. I would ask for a room in the back as the noise from the traffic meant we couldn’t have the windows open. The bedroom had no fan / air conditioning outlet. I would imagine it must be heated somehow for winter. But without being able to open the window, it was very stuffy. There was also no overhead light and only one lamp in the room. The hotel is quite dated and I would hope soon receives an update.

Liked: The hotel is conveniently located in the main area of the city that provides easy access to various attractions. Breakfast was great!
Disliked: Old. There was an instance when we need to access the other building (the sister company) to get in because the elevator was on maintenance.

Liked: Very good location, very near to everything. Breakfast is good above average.
Disliked: The room carpet needs good wash. Outdated . Parking is expensive
