Disliked: Poor service, staff noisy, asking staff deposit on arrival, doing maintenance lift during the day.. customer had to use stairs with luggage, aircon not working , staff using hoover while customer sleeping. Staff very ineffective when requesting a service

Great stopover for train station.

Liked: Excellent location for Eurostar. Friendly staff and clean.
Disliked: I would not stay here of my main reason was yo visit Brussels as it is too far from the centre but excellent base from which to catch an early morning Eutostar.

Liked: The staff was very friendly and helpful also The hotel location is very convenient if you are planning to take the train to Brugge and Ghant (it is right in front of the hotel)
Disliked: The hotel area can be a little sketchy, and require caution eve though I never felt unsafe or in danger! To Brussels tourist area like the Grand Place! It is about 40 min Walk!

Comfortable and very Convenient to...

Liked: Easy and smooth checkin to a larger room at the back of the hotel (short stairway to entrance). Pre-arrival contact and advice was excellent. The hotel is newly renewed and rebuilt and comfortable and had everything we needed including an opening window onto a quiet courtyard. The hotel is across the road from Bruxelles Midi station so we used it as a base to visit Gent, Bruges, Antwerp and Luxembourg by train. Brussels is very central as a place to stay while doing day trips on a rail pass across Belgium. The hotel is close to transit to Brussels sights.
Disliked: The quoted price of the hotel buffet breakfast was very high: there is a much better and cheaper and larger buffet breakfast in a nearby cafe. The area around Midi station is becoming more unpleasant for travellers than in the past with street people, graffiti and so on. This is not a dangerous area but it's just becoming increasingly seedy. Balance this against travel convenience and the good comfort and friendly welcome of the hotel when booking if it is of concern to you.
