Great location and staff, but...

Liked: Hotel Duval has a great location and excellent staff. The breakfast was good, though the setup was a bit unusual—guests have to place individual orders, which leads to long waits and morning lines.
Disliked: The air conditioner didn’t work properly and couldn’t be switched to a different mode, so it kept blowing strong cold air all night. The room layout was poorly designed, especially if more than one person is staying. The bathroom has glass partitions with no proper ventilation, so after a shower, the ceiling gets soaked and starts dripping water. The glass surfaces themselves were very dirty—understandably difficult to clean due to their number and placement. The shower floor is black and feels more like a waterproof membrane than proper tiling—unpleasant to stand on. The sink drained very slowly, possibly due to clogged pipes. There was no proper handheld showerhead, and the overhead fixture felt more like an outdoor summer shower than a comfortable indoor one.

Liked: My room didn't get cleaned twice, hated the shower and the room had a weird smell. Also, construction going on and banging through the night.

Liked: Great location, very friendly and helpful staff. Hotel was very accommodating to our two dogs. We ate at the steakhouse for dinner and it was excellent.
Disliked: The lounge/bar was closed during our entire stay due to an event, and the bar in the steakhouse was full the rest of the night because of this which was never told to us before arrival. We picked this hotel based on the location and the fact it had a bar. Also did not like that the bathroom was see through glass as I was staying with my boyfriend’s brother in the room, and would have liked the privacy of a wall and door when showering and using the restroom..
