We have stayed with the...

Liked: The hotel staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Breakfast was very nice food and service was perfect.
Disliked: We were not warned that the hotel had major refurbishment work being done at the time of our visit. This was difficult as there was no lift and one of has disability issues at moment and struggled with stairs. Our room was also very small with view across unkept graveyard/wasteland. Only days before our trip we asked for an upgrade but were told nothing was available. The room was also very hot.

What a let down. This...

Liked: In general staff were friendly and tried to be helpful.
Disliked: We lived in Henley on Thames a number of years back and decided to make a return trip after 10 years away. When we lived there Hotel Du Vin was a favoured destination for dinner and relaxing drinks so that was the obvious place to stay for our return visit. When we arrived at the hotel we discovered to our horror that we were staying in a building site. Reception was closed off, the restaurant had been relocated to a meeting room and a general feeling of dust around the building. We had been given no warning whatsoever that this work was taking place which is totally unacceptable. When I challenged the receptionist her response was that she could not get in touch with me - my mobile number was clearly visible on her booking reservation ! When challenged on this she replied that it was an Irish mobile and her line at reception only allowed her to make U.K calls - what a lame and utterly unacceptable excuse.

Wonderful stay in a unique...

Liked: Beautiful property. Excellent location enjoyed the breakfast and dinner one night. The room was large and the bed very comfortable. The shower area needs to have a slip resistant floor as even the mats still caused you to be very cautious.
Disliked: In the Taylor room just the floor of the shower otherwise everything was just fine.
