The Spotlight on Hotel du Vin Henley

Riverside Relaxation with a Touch of Vintage Luxury

Modern comfort meets historic charm at Hotel du Vin Henley, a converted brewery turned boutique hotel nestled just steps from the Thames in Henley-on-Thames. Featuring rustic features, elegant interiors, and an inviting French bistro, it's the perfect base for those heading out to catch live music or a weekend cultural event.
With hand-sprung mattresses, deep bathtubs, and drench showers, each room blends old-world character with upscale comfort — ideal for unwinding after a big night out. The hotel's central location places you within walking distance of Henley's historic market square and riverside strolls.

Why Concert-goers love it

You're just a short walk from Henley's key venues and riverside event spaces — no need to worry about late-night transport. While the hotel sits in a lively town center, it maintains a peaceful, boutique vibe, making it a favorite for music fans who want quiet recovery time after the show. The flexible 3 PM check-in means you can arrive at your pace, and breakfast runs late enough to recover from a night out.

Who this Hotel is great for

  • Groups of friends heading to a riverside gig or festival
  • Solo travelers ticking off a legendary artist
  • Couples looking for a romantic music weekend
  • Fans seeking a serene post-concert escape
  • Budget-conscious music lovers seeking boutique style in a walkable town

Food and Drink Options

The on-site French bistro is a hit among guests, serving up fresh, locally-sourced dishes in a cozy setting. While there's no 24/7 room service, the bar remains open late and the wine list is exceptional. You're also within a 10-minute walk of several riverside pubs and restaurants. Breakfast is available and relaxed, perfect after a late night.

Nightlife Options

While the hotel itself offers a more refined atmosphere with its wine bar and cigar humidor, you're just minutes from Henley’s pubs, wine bars, and seasonal live music events. Whether you're after a quiet drink or a post-show pint, it's all within easy reach.

What People Say

Guests rave about the characterful rooms, luxurious bathrooms, and especially the location — close enough to everything without being noisy. The bistro and wine list earn high marks, and many reviewers mention the hotel’s relaxing vibe as a standout.

Areas for Improvement

Some guests mention that parking can be a bit tight, especially during events, and the hotel doesn’t have an elevator — so pack light if you're on the top floor. The historic building adds charm but also a few creaky floorboards here and there.

The Bottom Line

A charming and stylish stay in the heart of Henley — perfect for concert-goers who want comfort, character, and walkable access to everything.

Luxurious stay in a charming...

Liked: This is a charming boutique hotel which is a tastefully renovated former brewery. It is so well located within a few minutes walk of the stunning Thames waterfront & towpath, restaurants & shops. It had its own underground guest car park. We were warmly welcomed & all the staff are keen that the hotel guests feel relaxed. We stayed in Ravenswood which was a huge, room with stand alone bath & largest walk in shower I've ever seen. With L'Occitane toiletries, super comfy king bed, tea & coffee maker the room is luxurious. They already had provided an extra fan to cope with the heatwave. Breakfast was delicious; buffet & table service with a French touch.
Disliked: Nothing.

Won’t be returning

Disliked: The bedroom needed an urgent refurb. It was plenty big enough but the furniture looked like it had been bought from a jumble sale. The bathroom was in equally bad need of a refurb. This was not what we expected from the price we paid for the room.

This hotel has returned to...

Liked: This place has had a serious re vamp . Having visited many times over the years there must be a recent change in management as the hotel has returned to its original superb level of hospitality. The staff are fantastic on every level and the rooms which have recently been refurbished are of a very high comfort level . Very good stay and highly recommended
