Disappointed - there must be...

Liked: Well situated, nice garden
Disliked: It is a converted hospital - I have stayed in several such places elsewhere, but this one does not work! Everything seemed very dark and dingy. Poor and overpriced food.I had a snack lunch - a poor quality crusty white roll that you could pick up in any supermarket.Breakfast was not included in my rate but decided to have it - then ended up walking out. Really poor breakfast buffet- no plain yoghurt, very limited cereal and fruit. All I wanted was branflakes, milk and a banana, or granola and plain yogurt - and would have paid the £19 for that - but neither combo was available so I left.Really helpful and cheerful staff on reception and at lunch. Disinterested at breakfast- and just left cleaning stuff one a table surrounded by diners. Could see chef making himself then eating a sandwich while cooking breakfast.

Liked: Love this hotel stay there every year sometimes twice a year, beautiful buildings, nice atmosphere chilled.Staff friendly
Disliked: First time in years Under staffed, no one on the bar, poor guy working between restaurant and bar alone. Had to find a member of staff to get served!

Liked: Location was good. Love the style of hotel.
Disliked: We got woken at 5 am by the security light going off in room. Reception said they didn’t know how to turn it off!!

Exceptional

Liked: Well priced, high quality hotel in a great location. The outdoor pool was fantastic on a sunny day, then back to a beautiful bedroom with the comfiest bed ever for a great sleep. Lovely historic old building, sympathetically renovated into a hotel. One of the best hotels we've ever stayed at!
