Liked: The location is fantastic to get into the centre of Exeter or back onto the main roads to see the local attractions.
Disliked: My family and in laws were extremely disappointed as regular visitors to Hotel Du Vin across the UK. As there was so many disappointments and failings I will simply list them below; - Despite booking and confirming via email x2 car parking spaces, only one was booked on arrival.- Lack of information regarding the reduced service across the hotel. No breakfast, no lunch, no evening meal spaces available despite the hotel restaurant and bar empty. - No information prior to arrival to explain pre booking time slots in the pool, therefore on arrival we were rudely removed from the pool by another guest. No further timings available until our final day. - No hand soap in our room- No robes in our room so had to walk through the hotel in towels despite other guests having robes in their room. - Mini Fridge overheated in a small side table and therefore extremely dangerous. - Bar stock was completely run down, so unable to order any drinks which required specific juices or botanicals. - The bar also run out of Seedlip Gin one evening. - No bar snacks available, nor nuts or olives due to Covid. Which seems unusual as the restaurant were serving food. - The bartender admitted one of his rounds was ?shoddy? when served a glass of fizzy water with lemon pith and no lemon, and a warm cocktail with only 2 out of 5 ingredients in it. Overall disappointing experience for a Hotel Du Vin. Lack of trained staff and an extreme restriction is services despite covid made this stay overall no more than a 2* despite 4* prices. Will not be staying at this or any other Hotel Su Vin Hotels in the future.

Liked: Lovely room could do with some redecorating but very comfortable and spacious, Breakfast was lovely and the staff were very helpful with our food order
Disliked: Parking was difficult in a road behind maybe explaining the situation would be better.. as I would have booked a place.. also the maybe a reminder to book the Restaurant and spar sessions in advance.. but it's tuff times with covid so all booking is understandable.. maybe just make sure folk are given a sold heads up..

Disappointed

Liked: Beautiful building full of character close to city centre
Disliked: Couldn?t have dinner at the hotel as too busy and not enough staff that evening. Next day took them over 2 hours to arrange a simple coffee and toast. Staff are young, seemingly inexperienced and not able to offer the service the pricing leads you to expect. Poor overall and well done on last visit

Adequate

Liked: Staff were friendly & helpful
Disliked: I had booked into the car park, but there was an issue which meant I had to move to the public car park, whilst the hotel covered the cost of this and refunded my hotel parking I couldn?t help but feel I was selected for the public car park as my car wasn?t posh enough.I also ordered a latte when it arrived the cup had lipstick on it, again I wasn?t charged to our drinks but in today?s world it?s not acceptable
