Not very emphatic

Liked: Proximity to where we needed to be
Disliked: The lack of a decent bar and the bedrooms were very small and corporate with no atmosphere

Save your money and book...

Liked: Bathroom products of good quality, complementary coffee, tea and toiletries; nice towels
Disliked: -no parking space available unless booked well in advance, however there are only about 13 spaces altogether; this incurred additional parking charges of £18.30/day at the nearby car park; -swimming pool is the size of a bath tub and we didn't spot any Spa facilities; -the bedding is all goose feather to which we are allergic; the receptionist was quite rude when we asked for a replacement and blamed us for not knowing that all chain hotels in UK have the same bedding; they eventually supplied us with replacement bedding that we had to fit ourselves Conclusion : we didn't consider the stay to be value for money, in short don't be fooled by the title and book an Ibis or similar for half the price

Liked: The hotel is fantastic and has a family run feel rather than a chain.The rooms are really nice with large bathrooms and a bath in a separate room off the bedroom.The breakfast is 100%.

Disliked: Wasn't aware that you had to pre-book parking and therefore ended up in the local car park!

Avoid room 008 and hotel...

Liked: Location to city centre. Hoping that Hotel du Vin brand standards would be met as they were when we stayed several years ago.Breakfast was amazing. Good quality and service. Well done.
Disliked: Getting a bit rough around the edges.The Deluxe room upgrade was not as great as we thought it turned out to be. Room 008 probably one of the nosiest rooms to stay in. Ground floor and closest to the road. Getting to the room felt like we were using the back entrance. Piles of laundry, delivery of bottled water even turned up and was stored in the hallway, temporarily. Room getting a little tired and in need of a refresh.Hotel du Vin Exeter, sorry but you need to up your game and deliver people’s expectations of the group brand. Sadly, we did not have a great experience, this time.

Liked: Excellent location, easy check in. Nice room layout. Clean and tidy throughout. Good facilities and friendly staff.Excellent breakfast.
Disliked: Slightly cheaper as over £100 for 1 evening in Exeter.
