Loved our stay and we...

Liked: Great hotel with beautiful gardens and a wonderful swimming pool.

Excellent location, usual HdV standard...

Liked: Loved the fact that I got a cheap upgrade and had a whole cottage to myself. Great food. Excellent French Malbec with my steak
Disliked: Nothing

Exceptional

A little bit pricey, but...

Liked: The hotel has so much character it’s beautiful. My room was amazing. I had two bathrooms huge beds. The restaurant was amazing really great quality food beautiful decor and the staff were friendly great amenities in the room beautiful little touches like lots of herbal teas coffee snacks and chocolate that were complementary.
Disliked: The rooms are not soundproof and because it’s an old converted building when people are on the landing going into their rooms it’s quite noisy which woke me up in the night and was a little bit startling as I was on a solo trip

Liked: From arrival to departure (and even following that, as I left an important item behind, and they were very helpful in ensuring it would be returned to me), the staff were keen to ensure our stay was comfortable. This included our dog. FYI - if you book to stay with a dog, the £25 includes a dog bed (no need to transport your own), dog bowl, treats etc.
Disliked: It's not that we didn't like it, but we were unaware that parking required a booking. This could well have been something I missed in their comprehensive, pre-checkin info. Having said that, there is ample paid parking adjacent to the hotel.
