Disappointing

Liked: Location of the hotel is great, but that's it. The room was smaller than a small room. The size of the room is so dlsturbing. No places for luggages, no places even to walk in the room. Be aware of the size. Moreover, they do not let tou stay in the lobby after 11 pm, because they do the cleaning which is really unaccaptable. And the staff were not so kindly and helpful.

The Receptionist when we checked...

Liked: The dinner menu, the tub and Nespresso in the room,, and the location was perfect. The upgrade for for a fee was a masterstroke.
Disliked: The barman was super busy and drinks took too much time.

Poor

Liked: Great location. Charming building. We loved the courtyard.
Disliked: Tiny rooms. Uncomfortable bed and pillows.Rooms not cleaned, even after requesting this at check-in and again during the day. At £250 a night, my bed being made doesn’t feel like a tall ask.

Loved it!

Liked: A very beautiful property and old Edinborough with indoor and outdoor seating a library, and indoor bar, private space , it was very, very elegant hotel. I would definitely stay there again. Additionally, the bed was very comfortable. I loved it.
Disliked: Wish the price could’ve been a little cheaper, but it was expensive, but I loved it

Pretty much as expected. Hotel...

Liked: Good location, on the whole friendly staff.
Disliked: Room was small for the price. Very average buffet selection for breakfast, although the hot food was ok.

Very comfortable pleasant stay in...

Liked: I liked the size of the hotel. Our room was on the top floor so lots of sloping ceilings and the windows weren’t able to be opened. Breakfast staff were lovely and the breakfast was good. However I felt that they were always one member of staff short, be it at breakfast or the outside bar and eating area.
Disliked: Odd question when we checked in about whether we wanted housekeeping every day! never had that before in this quality of hotel. A packet of crisps in the complimentary basket was five months out of date! As mentioned above I think the hotel was slightly understaffed which put the working staff under noticeable strain, though they were always very polite and welcoming.
