perfect place to stay to...

Liked: love the restaurant looking over the common and food great lots of unusual choices as well as staples. rooms are quiet and beds super comfortable. great having nice cars and drivers to drop you of st Wimbledon included .
Disliked: the price even though it was Wimbledon charging £877 for the smallest room B&B a bit excessive

Liked: can walk to wimbledon courts but free shuttle Our wine was delayed and the wrong bottle and they gave it to us free and added 2 drinks ? never had that happen wonderful people there

Expensive and questionable value for...

Liked: Location was perfect (as we knew from previously), breakfast was good, room was as expected. Staff were helpful and pleasant - as would be expected.
Disliked: Dinner menu was limited and looked the same as 3 years ago. Taxi transfers to Wimbledon were less prestigious than previously and slower on pick up.

Liked: The location was stunning, and the staff, particularly the night staff, were very helpful. It was a real treat.
Disliked: There could have been a bigger breakfast selection, but we found plenty to like.

Very disappointing

Liked: The setting is amazing, but unfortunately the rest of the hotel failed to live up to expectations and advertising. The level and quality of service was particularly poor.
Disliked: The level and quality of service was extremely poor. Badly trained , inattentive staff who seemed more interested in their own activities ( ie talking to / flirting with other members of staff) rather than taking care of their guests. The appearance of most of the staff was scruffy, hair untidy and outfits either ill-fitted or carelessly put on . I have rarely experienced such poor service. Bearing in mind that the hotel expects foreign as well as domestic visitors the quality of the staff is an appalling example of British hospitality. ( examples - although terrace not busy and lots of staff on duty, having been directed to a seat, ignored for 25 minutes. Had to go to staff member to ask to order drink .At dinner again ignored by staff. Service was cursory and without charm. No smile no greeting for the guests. At breakfast - again not busy - not greeted by staff who pointed in a direction in dining room rather than showing to a table . Table was not cleaned from previous occupant before we asked waiter to clean. Service of a decent breakfast was shambolic. No care taken with placement of items on the table - coffee spilt in the saucer and on the table . This was not a single member of staff or single example. The level of training for the staff was poor or the quality of staff selected had not learnt . I expect the former. If there is management on the restaurant floor it cant maintain very high standards . I will never return .

Inconsiderate

Liked: The location is terrific.
Disliked: I was booked into an aweful ground floor room that smelt of damp and was dark and dingy. It was next to their conference rooms which was occupied by a clothing company who were sewing it looked like a modern day sweat shop..................... I had sent an email stating I would be staying with a small child for the night and if I could have a quiet room. When I complained they said they could book me into another room but this was not a secure room and overlooked a roof.............. Then I had to wait for ages for the supervisor who never came as I asked for my money back. Finally someone at reception upgraded me to another room which overlooked the carpark and unbeknownst to me at the time of checking in would later have loud trucks delivering goods till 10pm........... Really poor.........
