Classic Charm Meets Concert Convenience in Central Bristol

Hotel du Vin Bristol blends elegant, historical style with modern boutique comfort in the heart of the city. Housed in a former sugar warehouse, this luxurious hotel offers a peaceful retreat with a secluded courtyard, just a short walk from Bristol’s buzzing nightlife and music venues. Expect atmospheric interiors, plush rooms, and a touch of French flair.

Why Concert-goers love it

Set within a 10-minute stroll of the city’s vibrant Waterside area and Cabot Circus, Hotel du Vin is perfectly placed for evening gigs and late-night entertainment. The quiet courtyard and cozy rooms make it a great place to wind down after a show. Plus, you're only about a 20-minute walk or quick cab ride from Temple Meads Station, making late-night transport a breeze. With a 3:00 pm check-in and 11:00 am checkout, it's easy to roll in late and sleep in a bit the next day.

Who this Hotel is great for

Groups of friends will love the stylish bar and central location.
Solo travelers can unwind in a safe, upscale setting.
Couples can turn a concert night into a romantic weekend.
Fans needing peace post-show will appreciate the quiet courtyard rooms.
Budget-conscious music lovers may need to stretch a little, but the comfort is worth it.

Food and Drink Options

The hotel’s award-winning bistro serves up French classics using West Country produce—perfect for pre- or post-show dining. While there isn’t 24/7 room service, the onsite Sugar House Bar offers an excellent wine list and cozy atmosphere. Breakfast is available, so you can recover in style the morning after.

Nightlife Options

While there's no on-site live music, you're close to Bristol’s top concert halls, bars, and late-night spots. The hotel’s own bar is ideal for a relaxed nightcap, featuring international wines and a mellow vibe. Or head out—plenty of pubs and venues are just a short walk away.

What People Say

Guests rave about the characterful building, comfy beds, and exceptional food. Reviews often mention the peaceful atmosphere, helpful staff, and the hotel’s proximity to both shopping and entertainment districts. It’s frequently praised as a great base for exploring Bristol's nightlife.

Areas for Improvement

Some visitors mention that due to its heritage status, the hotel lacks a lift—so pack light if stairs are an issue. Also, parking is limited, so public transport or taxis might be more convenient if you’re heading to a gig.

The Bottom Line

For concert-goers who want style, comfort, and location, Hotel du Vin Bristol hits all the right notes.

We really enjoyed our stay...

Liked: The bed was superbly comfortable, the bathroom extremely stylish, with loads of hot water and very nice toiletries provided. The range of beverages provided was excellent, and we were each provided with a free bottle of water every day, which Is a very nice touch. The restaurant had a relatively small but interesting menu, and the food was delicious.
Disliked: We are quite elderly and eyesight is not as sharp as it used to be. So the bedroom needed more lighting options. The bedside lights were fine, but the room needs an overhead light as well. It was so dim that it was almost impossible to see inside the cupboards. Also, a magnifying mirror would be a handy and welcome addition.

Disliked: Mixer taps in bathroom basin.

Great stay!

Liked: Breakfast was included with the price of our room and it was wonderful. We could choose either the cold buffet which included homemade bars and banana bread or a fully cooked option. Our first-floor room opened out over the courtyard and was very spacious. We slept with the door open to the courtyard each night and it proved to be very quiet. Our bathroom was spacious. King bed was comfortable as were the pillows. The hotel has a lovely little bar which offers delicious food and teas and tap beer!
Disliked: I was happy with everything.

nice hotel in a center...

Liked: The room was very nice. The toilet/shower door is see-through, which wasn't an issue for us. We didn’t eat at the hotel, but the location is excellent—just a 5-minute walk to Pipp & Co Café, where we had breakfast.
Disliked: One of the key things I looked for was a hotel with parking. I must have missed the fine print stating that parking needs to be booked in advance—and even if I had seen it, I only booked the room a day before. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to get a parking spot at the hotel and had to pay an additional £20 to park on the street nearby.
