Disliked: Poorly designed room, only basin in the toilet, no plugs near the bed to charge phones and iPads, shower did not drain well

Dirty rooms and poor service...

Liked: Location was nice, walkable distance to main shopping streets and train station.
Disliked: The room was not cleaned to any respectable standard prior to arrival, the bathroom had blocked drains in shower and the bath, hot and cold taps were actually backwards so hot was cold tap etc, cobwebs and dust, previous occupiers hair all over the bath - we told reception and asked to have the bathroom cleaned while we were out for dinner and it appears they just picked out some of the hair and didn’t actually clean it and it still had hair in it when we returned. Then found out the bedsheets were stained so we had to sleep on top of it at night, cobwebs on the ceiling and dust on surfaces. In the evening we were told by the bar staff no clean glasses so would have to have his beer in the bottle. In the morning when someone finally came to seat us for breakfast as per the sign, she scoffed and rolled her eyes when asked to explain how breakfast works. Informed the receptionist upon leaving about the issues we’d raised and got a shrug and a ‘sorry about all that’. For over £200 for bed and breakfast expected better, a tired and old state of repair in a room is one thing but a dirty one is really not acceptable.

Liked: Lovely hotel, great location, friendly welcoming staff. Parking space reserved, dog bowls, bed and suprise bag in room. Lovely breakfast. Great bath and shower in room, luxury bedding and super bed.
Disliked: Although mostly positive and great for dogs, little harder to get rid of dog bag as no external bins?! Bath robes, little tired, otherwise all very good. We also had an afternoon tea and although this was very good and the staff were accommodating, I am a vegetarian not vegan and the afternoon tea was for a vegan. Therfore I had to ask for the scones and clotted cream etc and had different cakes to the normal afternoon tea, although that was suitable for vegetarians. Worth just checking in future if someone is vegan or vegetarian, usually if someone is vegetarian and not vegan its because they can't give up the dairy!!
