Very expensive for what it...
Disliked: Heating in the room was broken, shower was to hot, the cold water mix didn?t work. Asked for it to be repaired, didn?t get done. Staff should ask if you want to use the restaurant and book as when we went to use it, it was fully booked in the evening.

Liked: We booked at Hotel du Vin on their current promotion, which offers great value. Our room (one up from the basic) was really comfortable and well-equipped, with silky bed linen, a lofty down duvet, generously provided L'Occitaine products and fresh milk in the fridge (hurrah!). Delicious supper and breakfast in the buzzy restaurant. Highly professional bartenders and friendly reception staff. The location, at the seaward end of the Lanes, is so convenient; and the secondary glazing in our room kept the street noise pretty much at bay.
Disliked: The hotel needs a bit more investment in decor - the hall carpet outside our room was bald; and the towels in the bathroom, while perfectly serviceable, had seen better days. Lighting levels in the bedroom are too low (though the bathroom lights are excellent). The dining room was short of staff: indeed, there were 'staff wanted' notices up all over Brighton. The wine list is in the process of being changed and my first two choices were not available - ironic for a Hotel du Vin.

Very comfortable room in a...
Liked: We were upgrade, the bed was a proper king size and the duvet exceptionally comfortable. The breakfast was exceptional,
Disliked: The dirty plate for our cooked breakfasts were not cleared promptly despite staff being available and service not busy.

Liked: The room was cosy as expected bed was comfortable. It did what it said on the tin !!
Disliked: We had a problem with the bathroom shower leaking into downstairs room. Maintenance made several visits just after our arrival to rectify the problem. This had been an ongoing problem and we should not have been allocated this room.

Liked: Beautiful hotel , lovely atmosphere, great staff, good location (a bit noisy at night but it is Brighton! ) room so cosy and bed super comfy. Would definitely return .
Disliked: Water Glasses in dining room - the same as the bathroom ones!
