A decent budget option in...

Liked: This is really a decent budget option, a bit rundown, but the location is brilliant and that's the biggest benefit.
Disliked: Property is rundown, the lift and the rooms are from the 80s if not 70s. My room was really tiny and not put together very well, but for one night and two days this was enough.

Compact room, close to restaurants...

Liked: The room & bathroom were nice & clean and maintained by housekeeping daily. The bed was comfy & shower was nice & hot. Location was good - not too far to the nearest Metro station. Staff were nice & even patient with me practicing my French! Very close to some great restaurants (literally down the road).
Disliked: The room was much smaller than expected - it seems we got the smallest one shown in the photos gallery! A few minor things: initially the aircon didn't work but when I mentioned it to Reception they said we needed them to switch it on for us - it worked fine after that. The bathroom vent did not appear to be working so there was a lot of steam (I mentioned this to Reception & they were not worried). No toilet roll holder so you have to reach behind if you're seated...

Disliked: The lift was really small so we struggled to get our cases in. We were on the 4th floor so had to use the lift as our luggage was too heavy to carry.

Liked: Clean and comfortable basic hotel. Good quiet location only a few minutes walk from Bastille Metro and about 10 minutes from Gare du Lyon
Disliked: Tiny rooms and bathroom that are perfectly adequate but would be unsuitable for elderly or infirm
