Good value non-luxury hotel in...
Liked: Wonderful staff member on reception (thank you Layla). Comfortable bed. Good value for money. Good location opposite Toulouse train station. Walking distance to town centre. Lots of coffee bars, a patisserie, tabac and restaurants close by. Decent, simple breakfast. Luggage can be stored after checkout if required.
Disliked: Small room size, needs refurbishment, leaking air conditioning unit, lot of stairs from front door to reception which was difficult to manage with heavy luggage.

If you're not looking for...
Liked: The hotel is conveniently located in a road opposite Toulouse Matabiau train station and the Navette bus to the airport, as well as local bus routes into and out of town. The canal is close by. Ideal for breaking the journey if you are travelling, or for a reasonable cost base for exploring Toulouse. Breakfast was self service, with cheese, charcuterie, fruit, toaster, an egg boiler for boiled eggs, croissants, jams, pain au chocolat, cereals, yoghurt, fruit juice, tea and coffee . Several cafe bars and a tabac were just outside. Walking distance to numerous restaurants, markets and the centre of town. Very comfortable bed with a good mattress. Air conditioning. Rooms were clean. Staff were friendly and helpful. After check-out, luggage could be left for collection later in the day if required. All in all, I felt that though there were some things that could have been better, the hotel fulfilled it's fiunction of somewhere lower cost to stay in a busy and popular university town where accommodation can be quite expensive.
Disliked: The hotel is in need of refurbishment. The rooms are small and decorated with a poor finish. In my room the wall paint carelessly overlapped on to the woodwork, the woodwork was chipped and scraped and there were some non-matching (plastic tile?) patches on the bathroom wall and door. Old stained carpet in bedroom. well used lino in the bathroom. Bedside lamps had loose lampshades due to missing the screw rings that hold the shade onto the base. Due to the size of room, the furniture was minimal. Tiny bedside tables. No bedside electrical outlet for phone charging, but there was one by the little desk. Narrow, open fronted hanging space with a shoe rack under. No drawers for clothing. Access to reception and to many of the rooms was up steep staircases and there was no elevator, so if you have heavy bags and are elderly, disabled or not strong it can be a challenge at check in and check out.
