The Spotlight on Hotel DeLuxe

Vintage Glamour Meets Downtown Portland Vibes

Hotel DeLuxe blends old-Hollywood charm with modern comfort in a prime Portland location. Just a 3-minute walk from Providence Park and a short drive to the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall, this boutique hotel is perfect for travelers who want a stylish, convenient base for their concert adventures. Expect warm tones, plush furnishings, and unique extras like a Well & Fit kit in every room.

Why Concert-goers love it

Music fans appreciate the walkable location—close to venues yet tucked away on a quieter street for good post-show rest. With late 4:00 PM check-in and 12:00 PM checkout, it’s easy to relax around your concert schedule. Borrow a bike, grab a ride share, or stroll to nearby performances—transport is flexible and easy.

Who this Hotel is great for

  • Groups of friends who want to explore the city and its music scene
  • Solo travelers catching a dream concert
  • Couples turning a show into a romantic weekend escape
  • Fans wanting a quieter, more refined space to recharge after the encore
  • Budget-conscious music fans looking for boutique charm without outrageous pricing

Food and Drink Options

The on-site restaurant, Gracie’s, serves elegant Pacific Northwest cuisine for breakfast and lunch—perfect for a late start after a night out. While there's no dinner service, the cozy Driftwood Room offers evening cocktails in a vintage setting. Plenty of restaurants and bars are just a short walk away. Seasonal afternoon tea (Nov–Jan) adds a charming touch.

Nightlife Options

While live music isn’t hosted on-site, the Driftwood Room is a popular pre-show stop for its craft cocktails and moody ambiance. You’re close to downtown nightlife, with bars, lounges, and intimate music venues just minutes away.

What People Say

Guests rave about the hotel’s stylish decor and nostalgic vibe, calling it “a character-filled gem.” Many appreciate the friendly staff, quiet rooms, and walkability. The Well & Fit kits and complimentary Wednesday tasting receptions are unexpected favorites.

Areas for Improvement

Some reviewers note that Gracie’s closes early, so evening dining requires going out. A few guests mentioned limited parking availability and that rooms facing the street can pick up some city sounds—request a courtyard view if that’s a concern.

The Bottom Line

If you want a stylish, peaceful base within walking distance of Portland’s biggest venues, Hotel DeLuxe is a glamorously low-key choice for concert-goers.

Really friendly staff; very helpful regarding local recommendations. Very spacious room.

Disliked: I don't prefer pedestal sinks in bathrooms, just cuz I'm a high maintenance gal who needs room to spread out my magic potions!

Looked like a fun place,...

Liked: Online the pictures looked awesome. But, once we arrived, sadly there was a flight of stairs to enter the lobby (not ideal when shlepping luggage). The staff were very nice, however the room was pretty small, the thermostat in the room did not work, and as odd as it may sound the way they made the bed was super strange. There was this weird, kind of scratchy like blanket they put down over the fitted sheet and then the top sheet followed with another weird scratchy blanket. We were only staying one night, otherwise I would've torn the bed apart and remade it so it made sense. One nice feature was that there were plenty of plugins available to charge all your electronics - that was a welcome feature! We brought our dog, which was welcomed by the staff, that was nice. The worst part was the neighborhood. I went out for an early morning walk so our dog could potty and encountered some very strange homeless people. One was so scary, I made a beeline back to the hotel before our dog could potty because he was looking at me weird and was quickly approaching me. I waited in the lobby until he passed and then we went back out. There were very little places that were suitable for a dog to do their business. I asked the reception desk if there was a park nearby and they gave me very vague directions. I never found the park and wasn't comfortable wandering around with so many strange individuals out there. Just not my cup of tea. The other odd thing is they do not offer room service. I had to meet a friend on the night we arrived and I told my husband to just order room service. Which he tried to do, but sadly they said they did not offer that. So he had to go down to pick up his food and bring it back to the room. Not to mention that the steak frites he ordered were really tough and barely palatable.I love Portland, but will be finding a different hotel to stay at next time.
Disliked: See above.

Perfect location, boutique hotel, delicious...

Liked: Great location, near the museum we visited, close to restaurants and easy to get to
Disliked: The heating did not work. It was exceptionally cold for being June and we did not have warm clothes with us. But the staff brought us to the room blankets and bathrobe and it all became nice and cozy. Also, it is a pity that Gracie, the restaurant, is only open for breakfast

Disliked: We stayed in 614 and the bed in there makes noises when you roll over. Time for a new frame.

10/10 recommend

Liked: It’s super cute and great size room. The vibes overall were amazing the staff let us use the disabled lift for our baby stroller since the entrance is all stairs which was super nice of them. Sad we couldn’t try the brunch it wasn’t open during our stay so definitely a reason to go back.

Liked: 721, great views, comfortable bed and furniture
Disliked: Cabinet door to minifridge was badly damaged and very hard to open/close. Minor complaint but it would be nice to have a table however small on both sides of the bed
