Really friendly staff; very helpful regarding local recommendations. Very spacious room.
Disliked: I don't prefer pedestal sinks in bathrooms, just cuz I'm a high maintenance gal who needs room to spread out my magic potions!

See you next year!
Liked: The old school appeal was amazing, greeted at the door and opened for us as we walked in. The location is key if you're up for walking around. Easy to walks to NW 23rd or 12th Ave. The driftwood was an excellent place to finish the night off with a drink or two.
Disliked: Nothing against the hotel, but the dirtiness of the streets seems to be a growing issue.

Glamour in Goose Hollow!
Liked: This is an ideal neighborhood for me in Portland. Goose Hollow is like a locals place, beautiful streetscapes, great shopping and restaurants...than across the 405 all the attractions of downtown. My favorite Portland Art Museum, Powell City of Books, more shopping and great dining. The other direction brings you the Rose and Japanese Gardens, Zoo and Forest Park. The hotel itself is glamor personified. You feel like you are Hollywood Royalty in the Golden Age of film. My corner King was citrus warmth with amazing bed, awesome sound from the premium clock radio playing the local jazz station and a shower that had INSTANT hot water and was easier to adjust to the right temperature. The seersucker bath robes lined in terrycloth were great as were the down to earth mini bar prices. Complementary champagne hour was icing on the cake.
Disliked: The room was small, but bright. The parking rates are San Francisco high, and I am not sure what that resort fee was good for. If there was a gym I didn't see it and no jacuzzi, sauna or gift shop to speak of. The bar is windowless and dark, not a bad thing perhaps. Having to climb steps (they do have a little lift) as soon as you walk in could be a hindrance. BUT it does create a glam sense of arrival. An awning or port-cochere would be nice as it does rain in Portland.

Wonderful relaxing stay in a...
Liked: Cleanliness, style, friendly courteous staff, two restaurants on site, snacks and drinks in hotel room, good room service, quiet clean elevator.
Disliked: The WiFi was good only for very short periods of time then I had to sign in again. Also, although I appreciated the snack basket in my room, I was not informed that there was a charge for each snack. I was surprised when I checked out to find out they were not complimentary.

Clean, comfortable rooms in a...
Liked: Very comfortable and clean beds. This was the best sleep on my entire trip. I didn't use it, but they even have a pillow menu! The lobby has free coffee and lemon water which was a nice touch. Location is good and easily walkable to breweries and restaurants etc. They have a later than usual check-out time which is nice if you want to do a little bit more exploring before leaving.
Disliked: I think some rooms probably have significantly better views than others, ours looked out at a wall/roof and you couldn't see anything else. The fridge is a bit confusing -- it's in the dresser and you have to break a little tab to open the fridge which immediately makes you worry about being charged for opening the fridge. Parking is expensive, if you can plan around it, I'd recommend using the free street parking (free from 7pm-8am most days... Sunday you don't have to move your car until 1pm which is great!). I felt this hotel was expensive, but in comparison to other hotels and airbnbs in the area it is on par... Portland is just expensive :)
