Liked: Such a cool place to stay. Art deco boutique hotel with fantastic rooms, restaurant & bar. The staff were so friendly & helpful. Great location with train station a 5 min walk. Will be staying there in future

Jazzy stay in Auckland

Liked: Jazzy place which was great to stay at. Loved the whole design and feel of the place. Spiral staircase in our room was fun. Very good location.
Disliked: The glass roof in the bar wasn't as clear as you'd like it to be to watch the stars.

Beautiful and classic hotel with...

Liked: When we arrived at the hotel we were very grateful to receive a free room upgrade to a corner suite and it was gorgeous. All of the facilities and fittings were top class and the staff were excellent.
Disliked: While being v beautiful, the vanity in the bathroom was set somewhat high for average height people like us. It would likely be more comfortable for 6'+ people.

Really nice, would have liked...

Liked: We love this hotel - second time we stayed. It's exactly as it was 9 years ago so from that perspective it's probably very slightly rough around the edges but everything is well maintained. It has a lovely mid-century vibe. They have one some the most comfortable hotel beds I've ever slept in. Breakfast is really nice and overall it's just something different from the usual inner city hotels with a nicer and more personal vibe.
Disliked: Staff use the lift a lot when cleaning rooms in the mornings so there doesn't seem to be a separate service lift - so it can mean waiting for the lift. But it's only a couple of floors so it's not really a major issue unless you have to use it.
