Comfortable

Liked: Comfortable spacious and clean room, excellent breakfast, nice wellness facilities and long opening hours. The restaurant is really good and the staff is very friendly!
Disliked: We stayed in a room with a balcony but from the moment we checked in, someone was mowing the grass outside the balcony on the hotel premises, and later on the next-door neighbor as well, so unfortunately we couldn’t enjoy the balcony for the one day we stayed there. The entrance to the park next to the hotel was closed during our stay but we were never informed of this (not in advance, not even at check-in). We ended up traveling 1 hour back and forth to the park instead of walking 5 minutes to the entrance, which was very unfortunate because the proximity to the entrance was the main reason we booked the hotel. The pool where swimwear is allowed is not heated and it is ok in the sun, but once the sun is gone the water is too cold to even comfortably swim for a few minutes. Due to constructions, it was not possible to lounge outside in the sun in the wellness area. Given the inconveniences, we feel like we overpaid for the room.

Liked: Nice staff. Good breakfast. Comfortable room. Convenient car parking.

Nice, but not worth the...

Liked: The building is nicely decorated; location is good for the forest.
Disliked: It's quite expensive for what you get. Breakfast was nice but the service was slow. The room isn't 'luxury' despite the luxury price - i.e., no moisturizer in the rooms, cheap toilet paper, only machine coffee at breakfast, etc.

Exceptional

I would stay 2 nights...

Liked: Room was nice, breakfast was excellent and the pool/steam facilities were terrific!
Disliked: Room was good (although like most European beds, they had one of those large bundled sheets so that I was constantly shifting from hot to cold...doesn't make for good sleeping.

An excellent stay, for explore...

Liked: Room was nice, very clean, looked like just build, with a comfortable couch and a very nice big and soft bed. The restaurant has a nice, modern/rustic design, and delivers a generous breakfast platter with a lot of variation, you could even order some extras a-la-carte breakfast, but the platter itself for 2 was more than enough. One of the highlights for our stay, was the access to the spa (modern, clean, quiet, relaxing), which was just the cherry on top after a wonderful day of biking and hiking at the hoge Veluwe. I strongly recommend to make use of it!
Disliked: It was a bit sad that the restaurant had mainly a pre set 4-course dinner with very little a-la-carte options and also that it was fully booked for both evenings we were there, which felt a bit strange, being guests and considering the price for two nights. That's the only minus for us. All the rest of the hotel is absolutely thumbs up!
