The Spotlight on Hotel de Paris Montreal

Charming Historic Stay in Montreal’s Vibrant Latin Quarter

Classic and full of character, Hotel de Paris Montreal sits in a beautifully preserved century-old manor in the heart of the city’s lively Latin Quarter. With individually decorated rooms and a laid-back vibe, this boutique-style hotel blends vintage charm with modern comfort. You'll be within walking distance to Montreal’s buzzing nightlife, eclectic restaurants, and several top music venues—ideal for an unforgettable concert weekend.

Why Concert-goers love it

This hotel is a walkable distance to several concert venues and entertainment hotspots like St. Denis Street and the Quartier des Spectacles. After the show, you’ll appreciate being close enough to stroll home without worrying about cabs or crowded late-night transit. While the hotel’s central location means you’re right in the action, reviewers often praise it as being surprisingly quiet at night. The 24-hour front desk is a bonus for late arrivals or midnight snack inquiries, and the 3:00 PM check-in gives you time to explore before heading out for the show.

Who this Hotel is great for

  • Groups of friends looking to enjoy a vibrant neighborhood together
  • Solo travelers catching a legendary act in town
  • Couples planning a romantic music-filled weekend
  • Fans needing a peaceful night after a loud venue
  • Budget-conscious music lovers who don’t want to sacrifice location

Food and Drink Options

Start your day (even a late one) with a free continental breakfast included in your stay. While there’s no on-site restaurant for late-night dining, the hotel’s location means you’re steps away from cafés, pizzerias, and 24-hour eateries. The Latin Quarter is packed with options for post-show bites, and you can always check in with the friendly front desk for local recommendations.

Nightlife Options

The hotel is just around the corner from buzzing bars and lounges on St. Denis Street, making it easy to keep the night going after the encore. While there’s no bar on-site, the seasonal outdoor terrace is a great place to unwind with a drink before heading out, and you’re never more than a few minutes from live music, late-night cocktails, or cozy pubs.

What People Say

Guests love the hotel’s location, character, and affordability. Many reviews highlight the friendly staff, clean rooms, and how it’s “perfect for exploring the city on foot.” The unique, individually decorated rooms get high marks for charm, and the building’s historic architecture adds a Parisian touch that many find enchanting.

Areas for Improvement

Be prepared to carry your bags, as the hotel does not have elevators due to its historic structure. Some rooms are on the smaller side, and the vintage decor may not be to everyone’s taste. But if you’re here for the music and the city’s energy, these quirks are easily overlooked.

The Bottom Line

Hotel de Paris Montreal is a budget-friendly, character-filled base for concert-goers who want to stay in the heart of the action without sacrificing charm or convenience.

Bad experience

Liked: I really like the girls they were so kind when I got there, the first one helped park my Car, I forgot to leave my key in my car sothat they could remove it😁. The guys was also so good, generally the staff was great.
Disliked: But the hotel was really bad, I would even give a zero. I was saying on the website some nice rooms. But they got me a small room, under a stairs, the washroom was so small as well, the room was not nice. And I paid 400 dollars for to nights. This is just a scam this hotel

Overpriced and Outdated – Not...

Liked: The location is excellent, with easy access to public transportation and key spots in the city. The Wi-Fi worked reliably during our entire stay, which was convenient. We were allowed to check into our room earlier than expected, which we really appreciated. On our last day, they kindly stored our luggage for a few hours before we headed to the airport.
Disliked: The photos online are very misleading and present the hotel in a much better condition than it actually is. The hotel clearly needs a major renovation. While it may have been nice in the past, it hasn’t been maintained or modernized. The bathroom was outdated, with a tiny, awkward shower that was far from comfortable.Breakfast is served in a damp, poorly ventilated basement. The quality of the breakfast itself was poor, with very limited options.ATTENTION: A staff member entered our room twice without knocking, even while we were inside, which made us feel very unsafe. Our room faced a wall, had almost no natural light, and the windows didn’t close properly — meaning anyone could potentially access the room from outside.Even though French is the official language in Montreal and there was a sign saying staff spoke French, we were only attended in English. The value for money was extremely poor. For the price, we expected a much higher standard.
